Wasnt foaming at the mouth, knew better than to trust a single source and when the hours went on and CNN, and other stations were saying they could not confirm it, it was easy to figure something was up. What the special counsel said wasnt a flat out denial but pointed out there are inaccuracies. We dont know if a line or the whole thing was incorrect. The Special Counsel's office im sure wants none of the info out on current investigations, so to be able to shut it down like that is ideal for them.

Ronan Farrow said he couldnt run the story because he also had anonymous sources disputing parts of the story.

Lets be honest folks, this was premediated, most likely as part of the feud between inner forces, considering recent events, it would seem like chess, counters and counter attacks.

Consider that Buzzfeed was the ONLY outlet to push this, they were to be the sacrificial lambs in this should anyone in a high enough position to dispute this.

It was a gamble and it failed.

It failed so spectacularly that Muellers office had to step in, the ultimate kiss of death in all things concerning "credibility".

As the smoke clears, we're left with a tattered and destroyed liberal news site and the reinforced perception that fake news truly does exist and is trying to subvert the POTUS.

Read between the lines. First of all Mueller's office wouldn't even be commenting unless there was something seriously wrong. Secondly, they didn't just say they got a fact wrong, they said their "characterization" was "not accurate". In other words, all of the conclusions they drew in the story (read: their wishful thinking that goes beyond just reporting the facts) are bogus.

I tend to just wait on these things because we get burned out on "breaking news" and we get fatigue because nothing ever happens. Obama impeached, Hillary in Jail, the Benghazi hearings, Trump collusion etc. But...I've known Trump was a shady character for 20 years. None of this surprises me and this might not end well...I'd prepare for president Pence if I was you guys.

This perhaps reaches the level of journalists needing to go to jail. Trying to take down the Presidency of the USA with lies is not freedom of the press.

I do hope there will be some apologies from Democrats who spouted off today and also a few here.

CNN seem upset - they can only report that the Special Counsel is 'disputing' the article, LOL.
At the very least I would think that any journalist who ran this story and hyped it as true would be fired. It's also appropriate for some Congressmen and Senators to resign.
