Ok. So in the past 2 years, who was in control over the congress? I believe, it was the republicans that held the majority in both chambers of the congress. I also believe they had the votes to pass any sort of bill they wanted, even using the Nuclear option in the Senate to get what they wanted.

So if in the past 2 years that they held the reins of power, and could pass anything, and get it to the President, then why now the shut down?

Funny, how they had a bill on the table for Trump to sign in December, that he did not sign, and let the government shut down.

This is not partisan glasses, this is reality and the truth.

The truth about this, is that the undocumented person, the illegal immigrant has been an issue going back to the end of World War II, a problem that has been brought up time and time again, but the government, and that is both parties, refuse to do anything about, let alone take a stand.

And what is even more funny, is that in the past, a wall was never wanted, nor was upsetting Mexico. Ronald Reagan even stated that we needed to be good neighbors with Mexico and not alienate them, so what would a wall do to that relationship?

Trump ran on a platform that stated that Mexico would pay for a wall. So why is this burden now shifted to the backs of the people? Was that not him during the campaign making that claim, even where he got people to say: Mexico will pay for the wall?

In short the we were lied to about the wall, and fear was used to justify that lie.

Take off your partisan glasses. Nothing can be blamed solely on either party because they're complicit in this debacle just as they are with every other serious issue. They don't want to solve any of the real problems because they would both lose their talking points. If you can't see that, you're not facing reality. Reviewing two years isn't even comical since this mess has been going on since Reagan.

Since apparently you didn't even read what I wrote---you are the one blaming one party or one guy and yet admitting that it's been a thing since Reagan. NONE OF THEM are doing their jobs---can't you understand that? When they don't pass ANY BUDGET at all they have not done their job. They are all complicit----because it keeps the partisans squawking. You are a perfect example. You just proved my point by donning your partisan glasses to blame Trump for an issue that even you has been a problem for decades.

I am not looking at this through a partisan glasses, but one based in fact and reality. The facts are that for the past 2 years the Republicans held the majority in both chambers of congress, to the point where it did not need the Democrats to vote on anything. Even if the Democrats voted no, the republicans could pass anything. Added to the nuclear rule, in the Senate, and what could not be passed.

And there was a bill passed and sent to the President in December of 2018. He did not sign and refused to sign. And he stated, on TV, that he is happy to shut down the government.

Trump owns this fully and completely.

And you are mistaken about the issues that this shut down is dancing around, it goes back far before Reagan, it goes back to after World War II, when it was recognized about the illegal immigration that was in the country. The federal government could have solved this problem at any time, and chose not to. Both parties have their reasons, at one time it was the Republicans that were supporting such, and Democrats that were against illegal immigratioin.
