Because they are desperate, and a hard Brexit will lead to some serious problems and hard times ahead.

so because it is hard it does not have to be enacted and you can have a do over?

ok

No, but because it will put the nation on its arse for the foreseeable future.

I don't wish to see that transpire for my kids.

And from my own perspective, Scotland did not vote for Brexit by 62% percent.

Then there are the lies told on both sides.

A second referendum cannot hurt given the current predicament in which we find ourselves.

Why bother when it will be proven the first meant nothing?
Why would the second have more credibility?

You don't need a second referendum, you just need the government to tell you it really doesn't matter what you vote on as the government will do what they choose anyway.

"Why bother when it will be proven the first meant nothing?"

Well, we were blatantly lied to the first time around, as i have already said.

"Why would the second have more credibility?"

Theres certainly no credibility right now with Mays spurious notion of a deal or the No deal hard Brexit that's on the table.

"you just need the government to tell you it really doesn't matter what you vote on as the government will do what they choose anyway."

Well that's what they are doing right now imho.

HEY I live there, its not too bad !

Govanhill is pretty trashy but what do you expect when we pump in hundreds of Immigrants and refugees
they need time to adjust and be purified by Scottish lifestyle !
saying that Shawlands was given 15 million to develop the local area and pedestrianise it
we just had a state of the art recycling plant built in Polmadie!

first built a new bus depot, new housing going up in the gorbals all the time

we just had Cathcart road resurfaced the first time since the commonwealth games in 2016
potholes are getting fixed !

my bins are emptied regularly , I cant get to my dentist and doctor without waiting
the hospital is just 5 minutes from my house , last time I was there I was seen and had a foot xray in 25 minutes!

haven't had any bad police # going on !

I'll say one thing Bridgeton was far worse

Exactly so why the # would we want to stay in a Union , sorry hostage situation with a government that doesnt listen to us!

Scotland are effectively a hostage , outvoted by the majority in every UK election

If your bins get emptied regularly then why are there rats, cockroach, and bedbug infestations all over the shop?

I know people who live in the new homes built, they were full of rodents before people even moved in!

What about all the refuse and other crap, mattresses and garbage, that line the streets for weeks at a time?

I loved Govanhill, lived there for 15 years, moved away so my kids could get a shot at a normal existence.

Let's just say the area is still not without its fair share of problems.

And its Sturgeons bag of spanners now, not Labours even though they helped create the problems the area faces.

Its a sad state of affairs for any supposed first ministers constituency to be in if truth be told.

Used to work in Bridgeton it's nowhere near as manky as GH, and then some.

I do not disagree that "Scotland are effectively a hostage", but when the government won't enforce a referendum passed by the people what can you do?
Like it or not imo the fact that the government won't respect the peoples vote is much more frightening than anything the EU can throw at you.

Seems to me a lot of what's going on is simply designed to widen the division amongst our people.

What we can do remains to seen i suppose.

Might just find out what the people can do all the same if "they" keep playing the game that they currently are.

End of the, in its present form, Brexit is a ticking time bomb with 16 days left on the clock.

A national Citizen’s Assembly (to oversee the (climate/environmental) changes, as part of creating a democracy fit for purpose.
rebellion.earth...

Extinction Rebellion are demanding political change. Probably not going to be 'heard' by those currently in power and deafened by the arms industry mania for profit from war and planetary destruction but for the future and for a voice for hope.

I am not sure as to the pest control situations in Govanhill I've seen it myself as I drink down in the queens park cafe, and neesons etc

a few boozers round that way and my mates stay down there so often visit the closes
and aye there is plenty rubbish but that has alot to do with the landlords as well !

Fly tipping is pretty rampant . There are so many daft council uplift laws now !

I stayed in Bridgeton for 5 years and I saw more violence and police there than Ive ever seen in govanhill!

bridgeton had more needles though , I stayed on Abercrombie street / forbes drive , next to the brigton health center and it was rife wae addicts , there was a childs nursery next door to the treatment center, not ideal location
and the place was littered with medical biological waste .

I've yet to see anything like that in govanhill.

I'll tell ye , Ive never seen the armed response unit once in living in Govanhill , I've lived here nearly 8 years now
and the first week I moved to brigeton I seen the armed response raid flats 5 times right across the road from my house !

Govanhill has its issues but they could be easily fixed if the community came together rather than trying to blame immigrants or nicola sturgeon .
If the community was united they could easily force the councils hand by marching for a cleaner area

The SNP has been in charge of Glasgow city council for just over a year, Any problems Govanhill has is down to Labour who was in charge of Gasgow city council and it's huge budget for 40 years.

hahahah aye well we have oor fair share ae bastards tae!

Aye we all have some part to play in this merry dance , Scotland may have been voted the most beautiful country but the towns and cities have a lot to answer for!
Whats the point in having beautiful countryside if your towns and cities are pure mingin!
Reekin ae pish and rubbish , have ye smelt sauchiehall street on a hot summers day OOFT would give ye the boak!
The whole of Scotland could do with some spring cleaning , maybe clean out some of the bastards while we are at it hahah!

England's fault ? no , the people and hard workers of England are the same as the people of Scotland , we are under the boot and our wealth and resources being squandered by the hands of corrupt politicians and corporate entities.

We probably need a socialist republic in Scotland, England should be the same , the people work and generate wealth not the politicians or the corporations. We should be protected and our countries too !
but aye as always we should work together , but not anymore , we need to take it apart and build it again!
Only way I see that happening is an Independent Scotland forcing England to go through some major policitcal shifts one which echoes the poeples movement in Scotland.

End london as a powerhouse of greed and corruption

Two wee guys got pulled with a Potato gun in the park a few years back GH not QP, helicopters and armed response all over the place.

So it does happen in Govanhill.

There there is the rampant sex trade, how many people have been done or implicated in likes of sex trafficking poor African Woman? Quite a few.

Good and bad all over the place i suppose but the quality of life only a few miles down the road is far superior.

Shame because it could be a nice area once again.
