With all of these references to Gavin McInnes, I finally decided to look the dude up. I'd never heard the name before. I found this:

Gavin Miles McInnes (/məˈkɪnɪs/; born 17 July 1970) is a Canadian writer and far-right political commentator. He is the co-founder of Vice Media and Vice Magazine and host of Get Off My Lawn, formerly on Conservative Review Television. He is a contributor to Taki's Magazine and a former contributor to The Rebel Media, and was a frequent guest on television programs on Fox News and TheBlaze.

McInnes was a leading figure in the hipster subculture while at Vice, being labelled as the "godfather" of hipsterdom. After leaving the company in 2008, he became increasingly known for his far-right political views. He is the founder of the Proud Boys, a chauvinist men's group considered to be a "general hate" organization by the Southern Poverty Law Center.

Oh, wow. I've just been compared to the founder of some idiot group that wants to be as bad as AntiFa. They must have, what, 20 members in the US? Whatever shall I do?

Oh, I know what to do! Laugh at the fool who suggested it!

I don't join hate clubs, peacefulpete. I don't need any help. I might let them join me, if they promise to behave.

I don't know how less TSA "officers" checking people and bags is better. That's like saying less cops on the street is better. Unless you actually pay TSA officers how is having less at an airport "better" for you? Doesn't that equate to longer lines? less security? are you a frequent traveler?

I thought I'd have a look at this thread to find out how the Shutdown was working out. Instead I got somebody's homoerotic fantasies about milk. This place is weird.

the government is full of paper pushers.....it is a bureaucracy,,,,, on top of that add lots of middle management...secretaries with assistant secretaries and you have what you see. While it seems people are not needed, it depends on what kind of service you require from the government,,,many offices are closed...meaning permits, applications and the like are not being processed. What about private companies who do jobs for the government? Are they getting paid? A permit to start a job for the government? and so on. You and I don't feel the shutdown, because our involvement with the government is limited.

I don't know how them checking bags is better than what we had pre-9/11.

I find them to be intrusive, surly and incompetent.

I am a frequent traveler and I get to cut to the front of the TSA line for my personal anal probe.

The shutdown is still happening, and presumably that still means that there are airport safety checks, which are still shut down, right?

Oh, now it's airports and not aircraft, huh? Next you'll be complaining that the TSA cannot give us all our free rectal exams.

..there are regular day-to-day plane inspections which are not being followed during the shutdown...

Well the topic all along was the reduction of safety checks in our country's airports. You've gone from arguing against it, then validating it, then arguing past / present tense of a PRESENTLY ongoing shutdown, to now arguing about airplanes versus airports?

Christ dude, you're not even saying anything lol.

As I mentioned in another thread the shutdown has prevented me from getting new product to market because I can't get TTB approval. This is putting some of product at risk of being ruined because it has a very limited shelf life. This comes after Trump's tariffs made it very hard to get the necessary materials to package my product in the first place.

All you people on here keep going on about how great Trump has been for business in America yet every step of the way he's done nothing but hurt my entire industry. So why should I support a man that is trying to ruin my livelihood?

quoted for truth.

I mean, Gavin is the face of the modern revival of white supremacy in America. Except everyone hates him, even his neighbors.

Which leaves us with Trump as the face of the modern revival of white supremacy in America. Except everyone hates him too.

Hmmm the movement doesn't seem to be working, does it?

Why do certain posters get to spam threads with useless drivel? Like 10 posts in a row...2 lines of nonsense...just to be contrarian.

I'm all for opposing views, but they have to have some substance to be taken seriously...

I haven't noticed a difference in my day to day with this big bad government shutdown. It is entertaining to see the TV try and convince everyone the world is going to end because of it.

All I hear is the voice of a criminal/drug addict pleading for a fix.

Ok here's some substance. My family owns a few houses, with a few tenants in each house, and the shutdown of govt. assistance to our tenants, means that we don't receive full rent, from them.

Landlords are not receiving rent, throughout the country, because of the shutdown.

And it's not like landlords have anything to do with the shutdown lol, or that they deserve to be punished for any reason...

Yeah, one of my biggest worries is about slumlords who don't get paid properly.

I also saw some prop put out yesterday about how government contractors aren't getting paid and yet when I spoke with a couple of them they claim they've been getting their checks. Who to believe? Someone reporting on msm or guys who I've known for 30 years and know to be honest? Hmmmmm....

I am a federal employee GS9 2210 series IT SPECIALIST. I want a wall. But yes this shutdown has crushed me. I am coming up on missing my second paycheck. I have been broke for days now, if this doesn't get fixed soon ill probably either get evicted or be so far behind it won't matter. On top of all that I need marijuana to live, literally. Without it I gain a bunch of weight, am unmotivated, it affects me differently than most people. I dont get hungry, I get motivated.

Anyway, I can't make my bi-weekly trip to the dispensary so that adds even more bull# to it.

I cant even ship things on ebay cause those assholes put all the money you make on hold so how the hell can you ship the item?
