Police: Active shooter at Fashion Place Mall in Murray

MURRAY, Utah (ABC4 news) - Police are responding to an active shooter at Fashion Place Mall. So far all we know is there are two victims but we are uncertain if that will change.

It is not clear how many people are still inside the mall but families who have friends and loved ones who were in the mall, they are asking you to meet at the Taco Bell on the corner of 6100 South State.

At least two suspects still at large and confirmed two victims, a man and a woman, who were transported to Intermountain Medical Center with what appears to be non-life threatening injuries.

Preliminary investigation: Police are saying they do believe this is gang related and the victims were targeted.

This is just breaking and details could change. There are no deaths being reported at this time, lets hope it stays that way.

There are at least 2 gunmen on the loose. My thoughts go out to the victims and their loved ones.

A woman was treated and released. A man is still in the hospital. Police are looking for 3 suspects that are still at large.

I wonder if they treated all gang shootings like this as "active shooters" how that would make the statistics look. Guns of choice then would be hi-points and such and people would forget about ar's.

yeah this is a gang thing. One of my friends was there. He said there was a stand off in the food court for like 2 hours.

Two 19 year old men have been arrested. It looks like it was a gang shootout in the mall.

Two 19-year-old men were arrested on suspicion of attempted aggravated murder, but investigators are not yet sure if either of them fired the shots that hit the victims, who were also involved in the brawl, said Kenny Bass, a police spokesman in the Salt Lake City suburb of Murray.

Shots were fired by the both sides, and those injured were believed to be people with the gangs. No bystanders were hit or injured, Bass said. Compounding the pandemonium, a fire alarm at the Fashion Place mall that had been malfunctioning for days went off inside the mall, sending people running for exits, Bass said.

They got the third suspect that was involved in the gang-related shooting that happened a week ago.

Police have arrested a third person in connection with a gang-related shooting at a Utah mall that wounded two people and sent hundreds of panicked shoppers fleeing.

Jail records show 20-year-old Flaviano Aguilar was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of riot and obstruction of justice.

Police say he was part of a group of gang members who crossed paths with rivals at Fashion Place mall Sunday. They say the dispute went outside, where one person on each side pulled a gun.
