I saw them in Oakland California. Robert Plant's son had died. Robert was pretty unhappy. There was some kind of confrontation, and Robert punched out the stage guard.
That was quite a concert

I was never a huge fan of their music.
A few songs here and there mostly.
But I do recognize their influence on other artists and for that I say thank you.

I might still have one of those albums. We gave quite a few to my daughter a while back but kept maybe fifty albums of various musics. We do have a turntable in the basement, I should bring it up stairs to play albums one of these days. It's hard with cats though, those pesky critters love to lay on anything that is warm.

One of the Greatest debut albums of all time, the melding of acoustic and electric makes this my personal favorite Zeppelin masterpiece.

That sounds...... suspect..... it can't be a studio version...... of course the applause in the background. I remember them Much better than this....

But there were some Great bands then, it was the 60's. I was 17-18 back then.
Page and Plant seemed enamored with the stories of JRR Tolkien.

By 1970 I was interrupted from the musical scene by the Events in Southeast Asia....
Music came with new replacements.... The 60's and early 70's were a time that would never come again, a loss of innocence.

It is hard to believe that my Led Zeppelin album is 50 years old.
I'm not sure where it is I think it is at my mom's house.

Saw them twice in the late 60s. Once at the Belfry golf club and at a venue in Birmingham. I can't think where that was, it could have been the Carousel.

It's in my Top 10 of all time greatest debut albums and also favourite Zep album by a minuscule margin over Zep II.

Who would you have in your Top 10?

The Birmingham Venue would have been " Mothers Club " in Erdington Birmingham.

I did a thread on here about Mothers Club a few years ago. It was situated in the High Street in a suburb of Birmingham above a furniture shop. It was running between the late 60's to early 70's. It was regarded as the best live venue in the world at that time.

en.wikipedia.org...

Led Zep at " Mothers " A couple of months after they released the debut album.

By the Gods
50 years.

But you made a mistake-you said "possibly" the greatest rock band to have ever existed.

The correct word is "indisputably"

Bron Yr Aur Stomp

That's about where I'm at.
I love them, but I listened to them so much they became cliche in my head.
But I won't shut them off if they happen to come on.
Same thing with the Beatles for me.

me too with the beatles

i think if you are actively still putting on the beatles or zep or ac/dc then you never really took a serious musical journey

still awesome but been there
a lot
