So if you have to make meatier, more thoughtful rebuttals to the idiots who support the president ... who is dumb and who is dumber?

Sorry, but I couldn't resist that one.

Thanks for such an awesome post.

It boggles my mind how so called Christians, can overlook tenant after tenant of their religion to justify their support. These aren’t really grey areas that can be debated.

Here is one thing I can tell you for certain. I live in a pretty red area, and recently traveled with a large group of right wing movers and shakers. The one name I didn’t hear one time was trump. There were a lot of what I’ll call left leaning independents in Ohio that voted for trump, they are now lost to him. You would have thought the blue wave would have been a clue. But they are doubling down. It’s not a party it’s a cult.

You hit on one of the reason I’m not pleasant to them (the board rwnj’s). They aren’t Honest, I’ve tested them time and time again, they fail the honesty exam. They are mostly trolls reinforcing the stupid upon their fellow wallnuts.

I secretly held out hope that bluster was just that, and once he took over the “genius” would come out. The deal maker, the guy that would throw his arm around Schumer in a press conference and say look at a the deal we made, I’m the greatest. Instead, (if his own departed best and brightest can be believed) we have a guy that can’t even grasp the big picture if he wanted to. He’s freaking illiterate.

I hate to say it, but suddenly Romney is looking like a sane choice for 2020.

The real damage trump is doing won’t be revealed for a while. It’s a lagging indicator.

You just Jim Acosta'd. Trump supporters don't talk about Trump on a daily basis because Trump supporters aren't cult members or obsessed like lefties say they are. Lefties talk about Trump more than any Trump supporter does. He's doing what he promised, we're just living our lives while he gets the job done. I work with lots of hardcore Trump supporters and none of us bring him up unless something big happens. You're letting the dude live in your head and I can guarantee you that you think about Trump far more than Trump supporters do. Oh, and thanks for pointing that out.

But the smart people told me he has an elaborate money laundering operation and it can be proved by looking at his taxes! How could such intelligent people be wrong?

If one actually talks to the IRS they will tell you that you need to do everything legally in your power to minimize your taxes. If you fail to take advance of something then it is on you, they will not come back and say, hey you paid us too much...

So if Trump paid his legal taxes even if he ended up paying zero one year then that is exactly what he should have done... I'm not sure there are too many liberals that write a check for an extra 20% of their income to pay more taxes than what they legally should pay, and I don't expect Trump to do the same.

It's very simple. As a Christian, I will explain it to you.

Neither candidate is a good Christian. You cannot in a million years tell me that Hillary was in any way more Christian than Trump. So let's end that line right there.

In fact, what I voted on when it came to that is which candidate was most likely to be less hostile to me living my faith in the way I preferred. And there was simply no contest there.

Trump may not be much, if any Christian, but he's far, far less hostile to Christians and Chrisitianity than Hillary or any other leftist is.

The funny part is I would not know a single Trump tweet if I didn't hear it from the left...I don't care about his tweets, I just care that he does what he said he will do. If he screwed a porn star in victory for every item he can mark as complete on his campaign promise bucket list then have at it, he can have two if he gets the wall....

A quote the isn't Trump's. This is why nobody trusts the news, and why you shouldn't eat everything they feed you. I'd tell you to do some research, but you'll see most articles saying the same thing you did. It pays to listen to the person acting making the speech. Catching the highlights, especially with the sites you obviously listen to, will make you look foolish.

www.youtube.com...

nope he never said that...

Exactly. He was telling a crowd at his rally what someone else said.

I'll put it into perspective for those who can't understand context.

I look at Hillary and I say "You're an idiot."

Hillary, while speaking to one of her hundred deep crowds says "Did you hear what LSU2018 said about me? He said I'm an idiot!"

Then newspapers and websites everywhere run the story with headlines reading "Hillary: I'm an idiot"

My biggest worry about it is that they understand that our rights come from a power beyond man's to take away. The word I'm looking for is sacred. I can tolerant them believing that our unalienable rights come from Vishnu so long as they truly believe we have those rights from a power beyond the agency of man and it is not for government to pick and choose which ones we get to keep after that.

Yep, this is a conspiracy site and that accounts for much of the biases here, the notion that Trump is anti-establishment.
And this is the very conspiracy that some of us here are trying to discuss, Trump's image as anti-establishment when in reality he is just as establishment as others are believed to be. He revels in this image and in it he finds his power.
Keep his people thinking it is the liberals and socialists that are the establishment and he can use all their revolutionary zeal to fight against the falseness of modern society.

Trump is anti-establishment. The establishment Republicans hate Trump as much as the Democrats.

Trump has never been part of that club. Trump is about as anti-establishment as we will see in our lifetime.

Trump is anti establishment only in a limited sense. That sense is that he wants to play with the big power boys and could not get into any ''inner circles'' of power by himself. To that end he has recruited followers under the quise of anti-establishment, stealing their anti-establishment sentiments, (that I applaud by the way) and using them to his own ends. His own ends.

Couldn't get into inner circles? He used to party with the Clinton's and other big name democrats all the time in the early 2000's. They kept moving more and more left, he stayed the same. That's why he bashed Bush II over the war. But the democrats of 2000 moved so far left that as Trump stayed the same, it pulled him into the party of Republicans. I can't think of one idea he has that wasn't supported by the democrats in 2000. Maybe you can name one? It just goes to show you how insanely far left the democrats went.

No, I refuse to reply to this post. Your request is vehemently denied. But you have 2 and half hours to get back before I leave for the weekend.

Wanting to keep my money instead of handing it over to the government=Stupid.

Wanting border security and comprehensive immigration reform=Stupid.

Wanting to leave the protracted wars in the Middle East=Stupid.

Wanting to end crap trade deals that force Americans to accept depressed wages=Stupid.

Not wanting to shred the constitution to try and implement poorly thought out gun control=Stupid.

If nothing else, liberals are at least showing their true colors now instead of hiding behind a veil of fake altruism.

Yep, they are the red coats in every sense of the word. If we were fighting the crown today, we would have a lot of traitors to fight through before we even got to the front lines.

i think a lot of trump supporters think he's a good businessman simply because he was on a reality tv show where he sat around a big table and fired people.

imo, that's sad.

of course, in reality he doesn't even have the balls to fire people to thier face, which is pure comedy, and his supporters make excuses.

Most Trump supporters are middle class tax payers. I'd bet I speak for most of them when I say I didn't care for Trump until September 2015 when he stood up to his comments about the border.

But do keep projecting. Joke's been on you every time so far.

Never saw the program.

I doubt most of us watched it, ever. I didn't either. I don't like "reality" shows. Never have.

As I say repeatedly. Right wingers lie, they lie all the time, it’s what they do. a reply to: LSU2018

Again, soundguy:

Psychological projection is a defense mechanism in which the human ego defends itself against unconscious impulses or qualities by denying their existence in themselves while attributing them to others.

For example, a person who is habitually lying may constantly accuse other people of lying.

True the condition is real and exists, but it also doesn't remove the fact that some are actually lying..

I see this type of projection daily from the left.

Well sure, and I see it daily from the right. Doesn't mean either of us are accurate 100% of the time. We both have to assess ourselves to be careful we're not calling out those in the pit while we're in it ourselves.

My own personal conclusion is I need to make an effort to use more meaty/thoughtful arguments as rebuttals rather than the standard fare. I'm working on it but it aint easy.

It's easy really. Just don't be that which you hate.

A perfect description of trump.

A perfect description of the left, but you already knew that. That's why I got a short, petty, one sentence reply from you.

Next he will accuse you of being a stalker.

That, or he'll tell me I'm off topic and this thread isn't about him.
