A local Seattle television station fired one of their video editors after being alerted that she had (allegedly) doctored President Trump's address video. The video was colorized/filtered to make the president's skin appear several shades more orange than it already is, his head is about 18% larger, and his tongue was edited to stick out repeatedly licking his lips. Okay, so you hate the president, but would you go to such extreme lengths to make him appear grotesque and risk your job? I'm shaking my head, I can't believe what some people will do. Do you think this is hilarious, outrageous, or acceptable and worthwhile?

MYNORTHWEST SOURCE

A Q13 editor was fired Thursday, after it was revealed that they had doctored a clip of President Trump’s Tuesday Oval Office address.

A listener to my program sent me a video that appears to show a deceptively edited video of President Trump’s speech from the Oval Office. We performed a side-by-side comparison of the video from our listener, apparently taken by a smart phone recording of Q13, to the raw video of Trump’s speech from CNN

That comparison revealed the Q13 video creating a loop of the President licking his lips — making it seem bizarre and unbalanced — it also seems that someone distorted the President’s face and may have added an orange tone to his skin. Less than a day after placing the editor responsible on leave pending an investigation, Q13 terminated his employment. “We’ve completed our investigation into this incident and determined that the actions were the result of an individual editor whose employment has been terminated,” said Q13’s news director in a Thursday update. “This does not meet our editorial standards and we regret if it is seen as portraying the President in a negative light,” Q13 told KTTH and MyNorthwest on Wednesday evening.

Hilarious, outrageous, or acceptable and worthwhile?
None of those really - it's more pathetic on the part of the idiot who changed the video.
It's just part of the ongoing trend to try and change reality to suit the warped and twisted minds of the haters that infest society.

I think she deserved to be fired. The 'news' people are all to eager to slant and skew the news rather than report it and it has to be embarrassing for those journalists who still have some integrity (if that is even a thing anymore).

Throwing away a good job. It is said the job market is better so good luck, idiot editor. Apply at 4chan.

I am thinking some people cannot separate their job from the insanity of the internet.

Take the risk, accept the consequences. At least the editor was promptly fired. Kinda funny, very stupid.

ETA: This ^^

As if Trump dosen't give us enough goofy photo ops already. It's depressing to think that this editor somehow believed they were ''help'' the cause they believe in. Just dumb.

While I'm not opposed to her getting fired for this stunt...it is still kinda funny.

I LOLed.

In a way you have to admire their personal sacrifice for a few seconds of humor. It brightened my day and I'm not even anti-Trump. If you can handle the consequences of your dumb choice, more power to you. I'm all for it.

Funny but overly obvious, but may have been the goal. Maybe they were all in on it in the dept-- while she took the fall or she wanted to be let go. I hear Q13 might be shut down anyway. She wanted to go out with a bang?

Yeah. I once had a friend who was ready to quit his job in a sensitive facility. He engineered an episode that spun out into a major expense for the company and was fired. Fired for being stupid. As he was being escorted off site I caught his eye and a quick little smirk crossed his lib as his eyes twinkled.

This is almost as bad as the Springfield mayoral debate between Sideshow Bob and Mayor Quimby where they made Quimby out to be the devil!

I heard that there is a barista job in NYC recently vacated by another idiot that might be suitable. It is doubtful that any more video editing positions will be available for this clown.

That's pretty funny. Imagine being so butt-hurt that you throw away your job.

I'm sure she'll have a job at CNN or MSNBC by next week.

This is Seattle, there are probably companies beating a path trying to hire her, and will pay top dollar for someone that has these views and values.
