Between 60 percent and 80 percent of female migrants traveling through Mexico are raped along the way, according to estimates from a study by Amnesty International and reporting by Fusion.
Instead of young men and seasonal workers, most of whom migrated from Mexico, the majority of people now arriving are asylum-seeking families and children from Central America

The democratic leadership says there is no crisis at the southern border.
Now we can talk about the vast amount of illegals in the US, how the effect economics or crime, but that seems to not sway democrats thinking on this issue.
So I thought maybe we could look at some numbers the democrats would care more about.
According to amnesty international, between 60 to 80% of women trying to cross the border are victims of rape.

The number fluctuates as has been over 60,000 the past few months, but lets go with the conservative estimate there are about 45,000 people apprehended a month trying to cross the border. Now the number of people that actually make it across isnt included in that number, so it could be much higher.
www.cbp.gov...-survey-target-id
But for the purposes of this we will just use the 45000 number.
Now we are constantly told that many of the people are women and children. In fact recent articles have been saying the old illegal immigration was working age men, byt now its turning in to families.
Instead of young men and seasonal workers, most of whom migrated from Mexico, the majority of people now arriving are asylum-seeking families and children from Central America
So lets just say 1/3 of those trying to cross the border are women, though I admit the number could be more than that or less.
This means that if 60 to 80 percent were victims of sexual assault, 9000 to 12000 women a month are being sexually assaulted trying to cross into the US.
Now again, I realize these numbers are not perfect because it is difficult to know exactly how many illegals are women, and the exact percentage being raped or sexually assaulted.
And you may say the wall doesnt solve this, which is another conversation.
But the dems are saying there is nor crisis at the border, and it is all manufactured by Trump.
How many women a month need be raped or sexually assaulted before the democrats say its a crisis?

Informative read. Thanks.
Does the Amnesty stat mean these women are assaulted during the migration or were they previously assaulted in their homeland?
Your thread indicates it is during migration. But I just wanted to be clear on that point. Because if it is as your thread states, then that is a clear indicator that animals are approaching.

A significant share experience sexual or physical abuse by smugglers, migrants, or even government officials: Between 60 percent and 80 percent of female migrants traveling through Mexico are raped along the way, according to estimates from a study by Amnesty International and reporting by Fusion. Women migrating from Central America to the United States also take contraception to prevent pregnancy in the event of rape, indicating they are fully aware of the risk of assault—yet still choose to undertake the journey.
Thousands of people from Central America make their way across Mexico every year, hoping to escape grinding poverty and insecurity back home and make better lives for themselves and their families in the USA.
Many of them travel on foot or on the top of freight trains. Their journey is full of dangers.
Kidnapping is a constant fear. Thousands of women, men and children are abducted every year. Victims whose desperate relatives cannot raise the ransom face torture or death.
Rape is widespread. It is believed that as many as six out of every 10 migrant women and girls experience sexual violence during the journey.
Killings are frequent. Nobody knows how many migrants die on the journey.

This seems like a lot of floundering to justify something. Most of those are applying for sanctuary and want to enter legally - so in effect, they're already stopped by the wall of law.
It takes a lot of money to be able to be escorted to the US and enter illegally, and women very seldom have that kind of money. That's why they try to enter legally.
I realize that you don't live along the border (I live in Texas, a border state) but if they are granted asylum, there are programs to help them that were put in place by both Democrats and Republicans. So saying that one particular political group doesn't care isn't correct.

Rape, murder. But the dems say no crisis.
Sounds to me like the crisis is south of the border, not at the border.

The crisis is people trying to get over the southern border being assaulted.

Wait, what? People are being raped while trying to climb the fence?
The crisis is where these people are fleeing from, not where they are fleeing to. The USA is capable of handling the influx at the southern border. Trump has shown us how successful his administration has been, and illegal crossings are at a record low, according to his own administration.
