The man only wants what amounts to .1% of the federal budget to goto his barrier.

Cost is obviously not an issue, why don't the dems just let it go?

If I made 800 dollars a week, I certainly wouldn't care about spending 80 cents on a candybar.

Maybe it’s because the Democrats recognize this so-called “barrier” for what it really is; a virtually useless vanity project for whose major purpose is to stoke the ego of an incompetent, petty man-child who blustered his way into an office he’s shown himself to be wholly unqualified to hold?

Maybe it’s because those funds could be put to use on security measures that would (and have proven to) be more effective, against a wider array of threats, than a mere wall.

The Democrats have offered to discuss ways to improve border, and national security, but 45 won’t consider anything but his dumb barrier.

They offer a healthier apple for less money, but manchild won’t take anything but his junk-food candy bar.

Then why has a wall always been supported until Trump suggested it? That makes the other side look like everything you just said about the president.

They also get kickbacks from traffickers and cartels. That is why many politicians are worth many millions of dollars on their modest salaries.

Anybody else thinks that the main reason the Libtards don't want a wall is all those voting Illegals ??
oh and btw it's Vicente Fox and he's been proven to be a corrupt SOB.

I dunno Im starting think could the Democrats be getting kicbacks from Drug and Human trafficking hmmmmm

That could explain the high net worth on the salary's they make and them not wanting true border security. Kinda answers both of those questions.

Of course it is all politics. Trump knows that once the money is pledged or allocated it is extremely difficult to change at a later date.

Obviously, Dems are betting he will be gone come 2020. Trump is simply playing it safe as well. Unfortunately, the Dems may find they ensure his victory in 2020. By then, more stats will be available and prove the effectiveness of having a more complete wall.

The shutdown continues until Nancy and Chuck "comply" 🤣

It'll be short lived.

A shut down government can't impeach Trump.

So they'll get back to work soon.

Bully Trump doesn't get his way.

Throws tantrum.

Pretty simple

Trump asks for funding for what he was elected for.

Majority did not vote for Trump.

Majority does not want an archaic wall.

But, Yes! Trump is self serving.

Thanks for reminding us of why the electoral college has been a great idea for over 200 years. Because if all we cared about was CA then you'd be right. But in the other 49 states, the majority voted for Trump.

Nancy and Chuck need to work on pretending to act concerned. They bombed at it. Now there are tons of memes floating around.

Oh, and trump saying he can identify with those not getting paychecks, was sincere? Please, whenever trump needed a hand out he went to his daddy.

Comments like that so perfectly highlight your ignorance about who Trump and his family are.

Thanks though because it let's me just scroll post your Trumper Tantrums every time you make one.

Dems should not have given him 1.37 bn in funds for his wall in 2018 then.

Which he hasn't even spent yet!

Yes he and DHS have!

In FY 2017 Congress provided DHS $292 million to build 40 miles of a steel bollard wall in the San Diego, El Centro and El Paso Sectors – Border Patrol’s highest priority locations – in place of an outdated and operationally ineffective barrier. DHS received its FY17 funding for border wall construction in May 2017. DHS awarded the first contract against that funding in November 2017 and began construction three months later in February 2018. As of November 21, 2018, CBP has constructed more than 31 of the 40 miles with the remaining 9 miles scheduled for completion by early 2019.

El Centro Project (2.25 miles): Completed.
El Paso Project (20 miles): Completed
San Diego Primary Project (14 miles): Completion anticipated in May 2019.
El Paso Project (4 miles): Construction started in September.

The El Centro Sector built approximately two miles of 30' steel bollard wall west of the Calexico West Port of Entry. The contract was awarded in November 2017, construction started in February 2018 and was completed in October 2018.

Oh darn. Well take back the anger that he hasn't spent it yet, and insert the anger that if he hadn't spent it yet, it could have gone towards the wall. And visualize a GRRR at the end of the statement.

Trump was elected for making Mexico pay for the wall.

No he wasn't. A wall paid for with the help of my taxes will be just fine.

In government, it's also hard to get the same amount, or more, when you haven't spent all of last year's budget yet.

Just goes to show you how much these democrats really care. Keeping the government shut down because they don't want extra protection for the citizens of the country they live in.

In December they had no problem putting together 10.6 billion aid package for central America and Southern Mexico Security and development...why not a measly 5bn for our own home country?

Exactly. And Pelosi wants $54 billion more for foreign aid, but can't give up $5 billion for a wall. They're looking stupid and it's only going to hurt them again in 2020.

But this wasn't in 2013, this was January of 2018, after Trump pulled DACA.

January 24, 2018

Top Senate Democrat Chuck Schumer on Tuesday pulled back an offer of $25 billion for President Donald Trump's long-promised southern border wall, as lawmakers scrambled to figure out how to push a deal to protect 700,000 or more so-called Dreamer immigrants from deportation.

Went back to Politifact and found this:

One more point to clarify: Schumer in January 2018 said he offered to back funding for Trump’s border wall in exchange for a broader immigration package that included a deal for so-called Dreamers, young immigrants living in the country illegally. Schumer reportedly made a $25 billion offer for the wall during a private meeting with Trump, as lawmakers negotiated a way to avert a government shutdown. Schumer rescinded his offer just a few days after making it, saying it was off the table because Trump rejected the broader immigration package. The New York Times reported that while the White House refused to acknowledge that Schumer made the wall offer, Senate leaders on both sides of the aisle confirmed it.

So you are correct in the fact that it is confirmed that an offer was made by senate leaders. No actual details of the offer and the white house refused to acknowledge. If this was an actual offer as stated....I would agree...TRUMP screwed up!

Edit add: Yet at the same time makes one wonder why they don't agree on 5 billion and show Trump up? Instead, they wish to keep gov shutdown partially? They obviously suffer from all or nothing syndrome too.

People lose their jobs or get fired all the time. Deal with it.

It's good for the public sector workers to experience what private sector workers do every once in awhile to remind them that their jobs arent cushy, do nothing gigs with total security.

Big old fat nothingburger. I'll shed no tears because some government workers miss a couple of paychecks. A little adversity is good for the soul.

It depends on how it was made.

I think chain migration was part of that deal, and I think chain migration was something they wanted off the table. I agree with the president if that's the case. Chain migration needs to be ended.

After 19 days with only 25% of the government shut down, enough money has been saved several times over to give the president what he wants.

Funny, nobody gave a crap when all of us in middle America were losing our jobs to China due to Obama's policies. I remember Obama said to just get used to it because those jobs weren't coming back.

Yeah but Obama doesn't say mean things so....

And besides that most of the people you reference were/are Republican voters so really who cares?

Tell nancy to give trump his wall if she's so concerned about the little people.
She could create all kinds of new jobs....

But politics...

The democrats idea of compromise has always been "just do it our way"

How is Trump storming out because he didn't get his own way any different?

Can't negotiate when the person on the other side states that there will be no negotiation.

Trump is there to negotiate, a give and take. The Democrats say that there will be no negotiation and Trump is the child?

Are you serious with this crap? Explain the logic behind that for me please.
