It’s a new civil war. It’s more dangerous and precarious than any war America has ever fought.

Conservatism, a political right, has finally come to blows with socialism, a political left.

Conservatism and Socialism cannot exist in the same space. The problem is, that socialist are fine with spending money not their own. Until it is their money they’re losing to support other socialists.

We, I, conservatives... true believers in freedom, personal responsibility, and sovereign citizenry of the US is literally at war with democrats and socialists and their ways they are trying to force upon everyone.

War is a strong term you say? Ask those of rural New York and rural California how it is to have policy dictated by those who love in one or two cities alone!

Socialism is the enemy of freedom. The last thing I want to deal with in life is more Government. They already meddle enough in the lives of their citizens and around the world. I don't WANT their help and don't need it either.

I does feel this way if you watch the media. That said, I haven't personally seen many changes in Government that have affected my life. Obamacare hurt my coverage but other than that..it seems more like a reality show outside of my reality here in the South.

I think a form of socialism is inevitable in the not so distant future. Future technology is going to change everything to the point of "why not "free" stuff". Artificial intelligence and nanobots will make it easier to accept because these things will be a game changer.

But for now I doubt a war will happen. Besides if people want to tax people who have tens of millions and I don't care I will never have that much and if I did I would gladly give a bunch to sleep better at night because the money is doing good instead of interest.

That is typical flawed logic.

Basically you are saying as long as the Government is screwing someone else over and not me what do I care? That kind of stupidity is what lead to the NAZI rise in Germany.

We must be opposed to any Government interference in anyone's freedom. Otherwise who is to say you and I won't be next? I might be opposed to abortion, but I must support the right of others to make their decisions free from Government meddling and interference.

We must be able to look beyond ourselves and see the common enemy is Government and their need to control us. It is OUR Government not Government for the sake of controlling their constituents.

Well if there's such a rise in socialism in the nation then what is the cause? What is causing people turn to socialist platforms?

Socialism is inevitable for certain aspects of a society, welfare, some form of health care, etc, etc. But what's driving people to want more?

We are nothing like Nazi and never will, I am sick of people using that argument.

You must really think very little of America. The only Nazi like stuff that I see is how people follow a politician or party to a degree that makes me feeling sorry for them.

We are all in this together not just as a Nation but as first timers in this thing we call reality.

It is funny how you think we have a choice to have privacy from Government interference when everyone is monitored, it will only get worse in the future.

There are homeless people who are just as important as the "fat cats" you are sticking up for.

The Government is not the only group controlling us, it could be much bigger and nefarious then that. Haven't you ever wondered why we are here and who could be watching us?

Brainwashing by the school system and the media, stupidity, mental illness, or any combination thereof.

I am opposed to Government interference in the life of the rich man and the homeless man. I believe in a voluntary society. It isn't that I don't want to help others it is that good ideas don't need to be forced upon the people.

It's not socialism, it's not a leftist ideology, it's not "progressives". . . .

It's communism.

It's a civil war alright.

But it's between communists and everyone else who likes freedom.

The way I see it both sides have to open their mouths in ways to still make that 180k (give or take an average Joe) a year paycheck to stay relevant, makes me sick honestly. The left seems to me, to be the mouth of socialism. The right won't back down and is just the same anymore.

We need to take "our" country back from them all. Just my opinion, not fight with each other.

Stupidity and the Neo-Marxist infiltration of education.

Wrong. A homeless person will never be as important or as valuable as a CEO that runs a company that employs 20 000 people. Never.

Ridiculous mindset.

I'm more valuable than the bum on the corner.

Etc
Etc
Etc

All men may be created equal but all men don't remain equal. You need to purge that Communist mindset from your psyche. It's completely divorced from reality.

You need to broaden your horizons and imagination. You seem to be stuck in your own world where you think everything is normal when in all likelihood there is some pretty crazy stuff going on.

I went to public schools so if you think I have a communist mindset then I got it from there.

I do not think you are more valuable then a homeless person, not morally anyway.

One of my mindsets is what if God was that bum on the corner with amnesia? Are you still worth more then him? You never know.

I suspect its poor economic opportunities and economic mobility, along with the extreme cost of health care.

Well Western/Eastern Europeans don't like nor love being culturally enriched. You forget what happend 500 years ago when the Ottoman Empire took over.

I'm right there with you on the ideal of the conservative mindset - personal responsibility, striking out, living the dream. But watch how your life crumbles to bits and awful pieces if you were to suffer a devastating personal accident. Watch how your life tumbles when the medical-industrial complex tells you that you're not covered to the tune of $350,000 or more. Yes to conservatism, but you absolutely need some sort of safeguard to protect everyone & anyone should the worst happen. Don't you agree? So there MUST be a measure of compromise - because those who are disabled through no fault of their own MUST be afforded basic human dignity. And I don't quite see that when I look at the USA. Being caught up in the dream is like walking blindly - not realising the great risks which the dream carries along with it. But what is the solution? I don't know - but despite its great failings, the UK system of national insurance & a national health service - free to all at the point of use, according to medical need - is absolutely up there with some of the best overall care in the world. And as I say, there are problems - but I know that if I fall off my crane when working hard in my 60hr weeks at the building site, I won't be told I need to pay $30,000 for the MRI scan or $150,000 for the operation to fuse the vertebrae & cauterise the discs which got smashed. Or $400,000 for five years of aftercare. Etc.
