Are you claiming we have capitalism? In that case, capitalism has worked hard to keep the third world in crippling poverty, and now it’s done that for Greece, Libya, and Iraq, next is Italy, and it will make its way to the US soon.

We have a mixed economy of socialist and capitalist policies that is corrupt by unfair;y benefiting people at the top.

Socialism never works when it is implemented at great levels; see Venzuela.

Not trying to sound - whatever, but how is Communism any more evil than Capitalism? One kills millions in the name of ideology and the other kills millions in the name of corporate sponsors - Coke, McDonalds, BP, Exxon, Etc..?

One has lead to the uplifting of billions and improved every face of life for the average person.

The other gives you China (before they went capitalist economically), the Soviet Union, Eastern Europe and Venezuala.

Is capitalism perfect? Hell no it isnt. But it is far superior to communism in every single way.

Communism has NEVER benefitted the average person like capitalism has.

Bernie isn’t a communist, he’s a socialist. And y’all obviously don’t know the difference because you watch too much msm. And socialists don’t want free stuff, they want the money they work for rather than for it all to be taxed away. And if it is to be taxed away against their will, they want it spent on them rather than as free handouts to wealthy corporations who didn’t work for it.

He's a communist that hides his true beliefs behind the guise of socialism. Which is just a stepping stone to communism.

The hell are you talking about? Greece and Italy are paying the price for decades of far left economic and political policies.

Libya was destroyed by your bro Obama and his homegirl Hillary and it had zero to do with capitalism.

So you're psychic and know exactly what's going on in his head? That's cool, I've never met a psychic before.

To be fair in regards to a lot of the posts here, "Communism" didn't kill millions of people in China and Russia, Mao and Stalin did. The fact that they were communists didn't make them commit atrocities.
That's like saying John Wayne Gacy killed people because he was Catholic. Yes, he happened to be Catholic, but he was a horrible psychopath. Same as Mao and Stalin. They happened to be Communists, but they were psychopaths.

This isn't to say I'm pro-Communist. I'm definitely not a fan. However, in the interest of defending people who aren't here to defend themselves, Sanders definitely is not a Communist.

ETA: Also, saying Socialism is a stepping stone to Communism: So...Republicanism is just a stepping stone to Fascism then?

Venezuela, and every single other nation that tried socialism, had also been subject to constant attacks by ngo’s fomenting dissent and insurgency, as well as US economic espionage, sanctions, attempted assassinations and coups, but I’m sure that had nothing to do with their situation.

Good assumptions are here. Any evidence to these claims? Or are you just guessing and proceeding as if your conjecture is fact? It’s rhetorical really, but I’ll field any response you care to submit.

No, Italy and Greece are paying the price of unregulated banking fraud. But I see you ascribe to the reasons given by the very people that perpetrated the crime. And Libya was destroyed by the neoliberal Obama and Hillary (not my bros by far), instigated by the mic and banks because he threatened their profit. Again, unregulated capitalism and corporate power and control of the US and western powers over our government policies.

I might not agree with his political stance on many or most things, I believe Bernie to be an actual good person.

Wanna know how I know that?

www.celebritynetworth.com...

He's worth almost nothing for someone who has been an influential senator, representative and city mayor for most of his life.

Aka, NOT corrupt.

Impressive. Compare him to any number of politicians who somehow manage to squirrel away millions & millions of dollars serving in Congress, despite ostensibly earning only $174,000 per year. They're getting graft from somewhere; it's almost the only explanation possible.

I don't agree with Bernie on many (most) issues, but he seems to be a decent person. That's why he never stood a chance in that den of snakes.

Seriously? You’re writing off the directed attempts of the US to overthrow a govt and economy? Their the foremost experts in the world on doing exactly that! They’ve perfected it, and almost every nation we’ve used it on, socialist, democratic or otherwise, has succumbed to it!

What a non argument! “Yup, it’s never her fault for getting raped, wearing those skimpy clothes. “

How absurd.

So I am victim shaming now?

So your stance is every single nation that has every tried socialism and failed cant be looked at an example of socialism failing because every single time it was the fault of other countries sabotaging the socialists country?

How laughable!

Or let use your strategy.

You are saying "There have never been rapes in socialists countries! They were all just fake rapes or rapes committed by capitalists, so tell the alleged rape victims of these countries to shut their mouths!"

real classy!

How about this. Ok, so Venezuela. NGOs spending billions to foment discord. Multiple assassination and coup attempts. Sanctions.

Cuba, multiple assassination attempts. Biological warfare. Sanctions. Massive propaganda campaigns.

Iran, overthrow of mossadegh; installment of brutal dictator with campaign of murder and disappearing citizens. Sanctions.

Chile, coup, installation of dictator. Murder of all economic and political opponents. sanctions.

Libya; invasion, sanctions; destruction of civilian infrastructure; Qaddafi murdered by anal rape with knife after watching his children murdered.

Name any nation without allies or a military, who tried to implement anything as radically socialist as nationalizing oil or banking and I’ll show you what the US did to bring em down. Hint, it’s the same in each place.

So weary of the fake news horse shat. Jesus, they are op-ed articles. They are opinion based by definition.

Fake news. Good Lord. You may as well say that every newspaper editorial since the beginning of time is fake news.

Are CNN and Fox News fake news? No. They are news networks who target a specific audience by using editorial commentary and political slant to attract their target audience, who want their news with a conservative or liberal slant.

List any non socilaist country Iand I can show you outside countries trying to influence it in similar ways.

Socialism is destructive, always fails, leads to corrupt people gaining power, and is always excused as not socialism faultt when it inevitably fails.

Give me one example ever of a socialist country that worked.

The guy who beats up his girlfriend never thinks he's the one at fault. If she hadn't made him mad, he wouldn't have given her a black eye.

Venezuela confiscated all their foreign-owned oil refineries and gave them to "the workers" to run. Turns out, the workers couldn't be bothered to maintain anything, so now Venezuela's oil industry basically doesn't exist anymore. As a typical OPEC nation, Venezuela's budget was based on oil revenue. So now, the government has no money to spend on any of the usual programs. Like the public water system, for example. People are resorting to having tanker trucks of water driven in, and hoping that the army doesn't hijack the truck, because the soldiers need water to.

a reply to: Grambler that’s simply because you have no clue what socialism really is, and it’s likely the opposite of what you think. Our “capitalist” system is the most corrupt in the world, which few would deny, and it’s tentacles effect the whole world.

So our system is responsible for the world.

Though the world economy has grown sluggishly since the 2008 financial crisis, poverty has continued to fall. According to a new World Bank report, between 1990 and 2013, the number of people in extreme poverty (defined as less than $1.90 a day) fell by nearly 1.1 billion, even as the world’s total population expanded by nearly 1.9 billion.

Since 2008, too, the proportion of people in extreme poverty population has fallen steadily, from 17.8% to just 10.8% of the global population. In 2013 alone, 114 million people were lifted out of extreme poverty.

qz.com...

Shall we compare that to the socialists paradises of the soveit Union and maos china, where over 100 million people starved to death?

I’m guessing us and Saudi price fixing oil low the last 10 years specifically to attack Russia Iran and Venezuela economies probably had something to do with it as well. As did the us bribing Venezuelan oligarchs to sell their food, meds, and products elsewhere and withhold them from the Venezuelan people. But I’m sure the US would weather something like that just fine.
