*If* applied correctly ... the devil is in the details. You do realize that for our supposedly underfunded school systems, most of them receive far more than that per year, per student, right? And yet, for some reason, student performance keeps going down, down, down.

So, let's discuss this "proper application" again because I don't think any entity involved with money and government knows anything about this concept ...

I would be happier if the government did not get involved in social injustices but instead concentrated on laws creating free and fair markets. The problems with our country are not rocket science. The lobbyist force the politicians to pass laws creating cartels and monopolies in exchange for campaign financing. Campaign financing is like heroin for politicians. Politicians will perform acts of fellatio and anilingus on farm animals for campaign financing. You know we have no free-markets in this country because there is no mechanism in the market to wring out inefficiencies of exorbitant CEO compensation packages.

The country is weak because the people are weak. Wealth inequality is at all time highs. The purchasing power of the dollar is making hard legal work less worthwhile every year:

Every time this country goes through a long period where crime pays better than hard law abiding work it usually ends very badly.
