A Toy DJI Drone showed up on Flightradar24... hence the Aviation Forum.

Here's the screen grab.

( broken up to fit ATS size )

I call Bull Honky.

I took off from Long Beach and has passed over Las Vegas at 11k feet doing 166mph. Never seen a toy drone on Flightradar24.
And what kind of batteries does it have?
Are they using a satellite to fly it?

Any explanations?

Now it's in Utah near Barclay???

is it this drone?

Trying to find out some top speed/ceiling information but I don't see any.

165mph indicated ground speed is dang fast for a drone, unless it's caught up in the jet stream somehow. I'm not really familiar with drones, but this is kind of intriguing.

Found some specs here.

On a 110mph tailwind maybe?

They top out at 45 mph, and have a 7km range extender mod. All radio signal.

I think you can set a gps flightpath on some though.

That sounds like alot of altitude and range combined.

Max speed 40 mph and flight time 27 minutes?

It must be cloaked as well.

lol

Wow.

Must be an error. It looks like it took off from Orange County Airport.

Look at this..

A Van's RV-8 keeps popping up.
Wonder if he has the Drone inside the plane with the Transmitter on?🤣

Same altitude, speed and heading.

My guess is that it's in a Cessna 182 (with no flight plan).
Pretty ballsy to make a point.

Nevermind it's not the Van's RV-8

Didn't they recently pass laws giving feds authority to shoot down privately owned drones?

No filters.. I happened to see it, as I've never seen a drone icon before and thought how weird. Gotta be 1000's of drones and never seen one on here till now.

That RV-8 is back..
That has to be the culprit.

Both Drone and RV-8 are gone over Utah headed near Salt lake city.
