U.S. House Democrats huddled on this last day of 2018 and prepared a new spending package, designed to re-open our partially shut-down U.S. Government. The House will vote on it Thursday, January 3, 2019, when Democrats will hold a solid majority in the U.S. House, for the first time since 2010.

The two-part Democratic package filed on Monday in the House includes a bill to keep funding for the Department of Homeland Security at current levels through Feb. 8 with no new wall funding, as well as a bundle of six measures worth nearly $265 billion combined that would fund the other shuttered agencies through the Sept. 30 end of the current fiscal year.

But U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell says Democrats in the House are, "wasting their time" if funds for a physical barrier between the USA and Mexico, is not included in any packages coming out of the Democrat-controlled House.

The Pelosi-led Democrats are reportedly introducing “a package of bills” on Monday, and then planning to vote on those bills Thursday when the new Congress comes in. The bills aim to end the government shutdown without addressing the $5 billion Wall that is not yet standing on our southern border.

McConnell spokesman Donald Stewart poured cold water all over the Democrat delusions, stating, “It’s simple: The Senate is not going to send something to the president that he won’t sign.”

What do YOU think should be included in any Government Funding Bill, for Democrats to also agree to $5 Billion in Wall, and other Homeland Security funding?

I suggested here www.abovetopsecret.com... that adding the ability to buy into Medicare would be a excellent addition to a bill that includes at least $5 Billion in Wall/Border Security funding.

The way things stand now, the government (now partially closed for 10 days) will likely stay partially closed for a long time, because neither side is budging on the Border Security/Wall Funding impasse.

What do YOU think should be included in any Government Funding Bill,

In lieu of an actual budget?
Money to fund the current needs of the Government. Salaries and stuff.

I want a real budget, a wall, and spending cuts.

I will get the wall before the other two and that's Trump's fault as much as Congress.

I would like the government to remain shut down until I feel the effects of the shutdown.

If you don't take care of the "I", you are never going to be in a position to take care of anyone else. Much less yourself.

Unless you are the sort that thinks the government should be the nanny of all.

In which case soon nobody will have anything except "them".

To the OP... hold fast for the wall.

Period.

I don't.

But I think what affects others, affects me.

So how exactly is a government shutdown effecting "all"?

Unlike our illegal immigration problem... which is indeed effecting "all".

ETA.. so you edited your post to get around answering my question?

Intellectually dishonest.

Good night.

And... build the damn wall already.

I just want to be entertained for once.

We know the Federal government is so well funded anyway, right?

That's been in every 2019 bill presented.

Are you talking about budgets, or continuing resolutions?
About what was presented, or what was passed?

What spending should be cut? The most money goes to Government-provided Healthcare. 2nd on the list is Government pensions.

Both. Funding for government salaries hasn't been a sticking point.

Funding for government salaries hasn't been a sticking point.
And yet, there are federal workers who are not being paid.
