Russia claims there are requests for the Su-57E export version.

Russians are claiming they are able to launch multiple attack drones off the SU-57. This is similar to the UTAP tests on US fighters. They are also claiming they can coordinate Ohotnik-B drones from the SU-57.

If this were China, I'd be inclined to believe them. However, Russia is pretty noted for making outlandish claims and waiting for people to forget they said it.

Granted. They also named their Su-30 as mini AWACs which performed poorly during Armenia Azerbaijan war last year. It is doubtful Su-57 can control any drone. There is only 1 pilot. If there were 2 crew the WSO can potentially do that, but it's too much workload for 1 pilot.

Seeing the Su57 cockpit is more F22 than F35 its going to be a lot harder to control things..Only thing I can think of is they piggyback a ground signal through a sensor pod to control drones.

Supposedly, 5 SE Asian countries are interested in the Su-57. Countries not named.

They were talking about the Su-35, not the Su-57.

That would imply the Felon needs a 2nd seater to control Ohotniks...

Bet they are regretting the Indians pulling out of the FGFA - now they have to find the money themselves to create a 2 seater.

Everyone will soon be hit hard with delta if they haven't already: UK seems to be coming out of it but the data is very mixed...and Russia's Covid numbers are a complete laughing stock when you compare to excess deaths (at least 3 times, possibly 5 times Covid deaths than reported), Florida is heading into an apocalypse, Sydney has been shutdown for over a month with at least another month to go...

With the 57, we see a capable basic airframe, but the overall systems behind it may be closer to 4+ gen: Russia simply doesn't have the money to be too ambitious. After all, their best minds are not to be found in aerospace in Russia, but in the US...or more realistically in finance and software, using their brains to make a lot more money...

Hard disagree with you there, it's systems push it closer to gen 5.5 if anything. (If an F-22 is 5th gen and has half of the systems an SU-57 now has then that answers it easily...)

Next block update for the Su-57 is slated for 2025:

www.ruaviation.com...

I guess that means they are only to get something like 25 or 30 of the Block 0 version?
