I was considering our relationship to the coming hive mind and how we look at and experience information and came to this conclusion.
We currently probably have the cultural view that we are in control of the information we discover but I wonder if that's not exactly true. Could new discoveries, new perspectives and new what's essentially new information actually be the guiding force of our current world rather than us?
Hmmm..
Discuss.

It's symbiotic. A loop.
We create the information that influences us to create more information that influences us.
Edit:
I'm drunk off Bailey's infused coffee at 6am.

First we would have to categorize what type of information is being discussed.
The information we receive from the MSM is designed to control us.
The internet should have made it easier to find information to guide our decisions.
Example:
My friends 2000 Hyundai Elantra had a catastrophic failure of the harmonic damper which melted the timing belt case.
After replacing the balancer, timing belt and plastic cover, the computer is now registering P0343 errors, misfiring and the check engine light comes on? Theoretically the internet should have the information to fix the problem.
The mechanics don't seem to have any success with this kind of situation.
Where do you look, the new car ads?
