I would think most of the jobs on the wall would go to illegals because they can be paid a lower wage. A few manager/owners will get rich and the government will be paying a regular construction worker wage of which a chunk will be pocketed by the company.

Under budget and ahead of schedule.

Here's an idea:

They build the wall In exchange for a path to citizenship. After a thorough background check, of course.

Thanks for asking. As far as universal healthcare is concerned no but individuals raise money for their own personal health care to the tune of 650 million per year. That puts the overwhelming cost of health care in perspective. I haven't seen any major GoFundMe campaign for flint. I would be happy to donate to either campaign if I saw one, but I guess the u.s priorities are elsewhere which was the point of my post.

So that money would, logically speaking, go to the house for dispersion.

Do you think they would put it toward a wall?

What do you think the final gift would be after the GoFundMe cut and taxes?

This whole idea is ludicrous.

They are working with lawyers and people from the WH to ensure that the money only goes to the wall.

They can "work with lawyers and people from the WH" all they want, but DHS can't take the money unless Congress allows it.

ETA - don't bother asking for sources, there are a number of hyperlinks in that article that go to relevant portions of the GAO's rules and regulations, the US Code, etc.

Cool.

Good thing someone introduced HR 7207 and the Border Wall Bonds Act to circumvent that.

Cool.

They've got 11 days to get it out of Committee, where it's sat for nearly a month, and passed before Democrats take control of the house. Granted, Congress can't even get a spending bill passed right now, but I'm sure they'll put that stuff ahead of keeping the government open.

The bonds acts was introduced on the 17th.

Shut it down if we need to, Schumer will end up owning it anyway after calling for a border wall not so long ago. Cool.

Why are you being an asshole by calling this man wheels.

.

cause i wanted to see how long it would take one of you to make a comment like that.

it started with another member kind of hinting to the fact that since he is a combat vet amputee he must be a honest - stand up(feel me shamrock) guy.

my basic point was just cause he is a vet does not mean he is honest

i made a joke and decided to run with it(feel me shamrock)

Pitiful, so like our POTUS, you're just being an asshole. Got it.

I'm a veteran and I am honest.

You have no "basic point" because you're just a troll, that's all there is to it

Sorry the wall triggered you 😌

Anyone can set one up, even you.

You may be surprised at who would be willing to donate.

Ohhh I seem to have struck a nerve lol. I guess this is where your argument ends.

You should spend the rest of the day looking at a mirror.

Oh don't lie, because now there's some fire in your responses lol.

And the only thing you're pointing out in this thread is your own BS. If ATS gives you something to do, then you probably need this site. What happens when it doesn't need you?

And you know what? I'll donate to it in your name.

The bonds acts was introduced on the 17th.

Yes it was. The other one was introduced in November, sent to committee, and nothing else has happened. The last one was introduced in June, sent to committee, then sent to subcommittee, and nothing else has happened. But I applaud your hopefulness that this one will be special and avoid that.

I really don't give a damn if Schumer gets blamed for it or not. That's completely irrelevant to the entire point of our dialogue. You said the gofundme is working with people from the WH, and it doesn't matter one bit who they work with at the WH unless Congress does something, and that's the only point I've made. If you want to start going all over the map to try and score a point, that's fine.

Fine, and cool.

I find it absolutely hilarious, and massively hypocritical, that a bunch of people who pride themselves on the claim of being fiscally "responsible" are throwing their money at this GoFundMe, the funds of which cannot go to the specific reason it's being collected and will be considered General funds in a collective pot with no guarantee of going anywhere they want it to at the end.

Good lord, people are unbelievably fecking stupid. If it smells like s# on your shoe, you more than likely stepped in s#. Recognize the damned smell already.
