The four walls of your house are easy to secure , the nearly 2000 miles of border not so much ... wall or not.

China disagrees. Look at their wall, you can walk it and it traverses through some nasty areas.

And ultimately it failed to do its job , learn from mistakes of the past or risk repeating them.

That's a good point.

Perhaps you can brefily explain the history of the great wall? How long was it in use as deterant to invasion? How many invasions did it deter, how many did it fail to deter? How would chineas history been different with out the wall?

Trump tweet Dec 20

With so much talk about the Wall, people are losing sight of the great job being done on our Southern Border by Border Patrol, ICE and our great Military. Remember the Caravans? Well, they didn’t get through and none are forming or on their way. Border is tight. Fake News silent!

Sounds as though he shot down his own argument for the wall.

Somebody needs to start a crowdfund for the workers put out of work in this Trump shutdown who because of Trump and his depraved ego won't have a merry Xmas.

They get backpay whenever the government reopens. They’re supposed to, anyway.

So yes, they receive zero pay during the shutdown.
