A prime example of use for concealed carry. In this instance, crazy man with gun went after an employee, jumping the counter with a handgun and found out the hard way that armed citizens do not make easy victims. I do fully expect Walgreens to fire the employee as they did with a pharmacist back in 2011.

But between you and me, getting fired from his Wal-job is much better than getting killed by a gunman.

www.bloomberg.com...

Video from inside the store showed Hurley pull out a handgun, jump over the counter and grab the photos from the clerk while employees were trying to call police, Pierce said.

Hurley, 52, appeared to be leaving with the photographs, but then apparently returned and went back toward the clerk.

"(Hurley) then came back over the counter, and a clerk who was 28 years old, who had a concealed-carry license and was armed, pulled his own weapon and shot the deceased," Pierce said.

Oklahoma is one of more than 30 states with a "stand your ground" law that allows people to use deadly force inside their home or place of business against anyone who enters those locations "unlawfully or forcefully." Oklahoma's law was expanded earlier this year to include places of worship.

Pierce said the Tulsa County district attorney will decide whether to charge the clerk, but said the reason he wasn't arrested was because "he was legally armed and that the evidence that we had at the scene supports a self-defense type of situation."

If someone breaks into your home or tries to rob you ,and you dont have a gun.

How are you going to shoot them?

You don't need to defend yourself.... the media tells you to call 911 and curl into a ball and hope you live... oh, and make sure you look at the intruders so you can be a good witness... LOL

Regardless of what the assailants reasons were, he was armed and going after the employee.

Would you prefer to read about a Walgreen's massacre?

Yeah, how little the thug valued his own life. Sad.

More in depth report

Hurley had multiple felony convictions, according to state court records. In 2001, he pleaded guilty to three bogus check charges. He pleaded guilty in 2018 to charges of assault and battery and failure to report child abuse, which were filed in 2015.

No great loss here.

It's unfortunate, but Walgreens is 100% going to fire this person.

His personal safety is more important than a job processing photos at Walgreens. I'm sure he won't have to wait long for some entrepreneur to recognize his moxie and give him a better paying job.

you waited your whole life for this.

Guns don't usually save anyone. Quite the opposite.
