Breaking news: Ladder sell skyrocket in Mexico.

Good, maybe it'll give them something else to do other than send criminals, drugs, and women over here to have anchor babies

The reasoning is the dims will be doing nothing but attacking the President after the first of the year and they would rather do that than anything else. so no budget and it's in their lap.

The money to build a wall, to increase American's level of safety, was built in to the recently passed defense budget. The President is just going through the formalities of legislative attempts first, because that's how it's done. (shrug)

Did you mention on ATS that Trump/McConnell was considering the Nuclear Option, earlier this week?

Or, are you just talking for the sake of talking?

Nah, I didn’t mention it before my reply.

Sake of talking? I suppose that’s the purpose of talking, whatever that sake is.

Touché

I am not on board with your rationalization that $5,700,000,000 is equal to $130, but whatever.

Give the orange one his fence and let's move on.

It's ridiculous that this guy is willing to shut down the United States government over this issue. A damn wall is not going to make the southern border more secure no matter what Trump says. He just wants something tangible to attach to his legacy.

Remember it's all about making Trump look good.

The government that most Americans depend on is not shutting down. Even the people who are furloughed will get a paid vacation whether it is 5 days or 20 days.

This is not true. The senate decides whether to allocate back-pay for those individuals, so its not a guarantee.

In your assessment, you left out one important thing. Tump based his whole campaign on the "chant" Mexico will pay for the wall" I guess you have conveniently forgotten that. And he has bragged about OWNING the government shutdown. Can't you see the raisins pouring out of this fruitcakes ears?

McConnell approved it today. Furloughed government workers get back pay.

It has something to do with defending the homeland. A way to access funds needed for national security purposes. Threats to America (living and drugs) come across our southern border.

Reallocation of budget funding beyond about $12 million requires Congressional approval.

The government has shutdown and both houses are in recess. Unlikely funding will get through the senate as they require a 60 vote majority.
