Yeah that's what court is for not what the police are for.

What a sad cop out. Especially because you probably know as well as I do that such tactics as I described were used by Mueller in this very case, and that the facts and evidence were also withheld from the court.

why would the gov't have to prove the charges in a court of law when the defendant admits guilt of those charges??

Among other reasons, because it's not at all unusual for folks to take a plea deal when they know they do not have the resources to defend themselves. The government has unlimited resources to persecute... Flynn and most of us do not.

And in this case much more. However, I will defer the details to Xcathdra, who explains it all very well in his new OP: The Evidence Coming Out Of The Flynn Case Makes Mueller Look Worse And Worse

I think this judge needs to lay off the prescription medications and narcotics. Not good to seemingly mix heavy amounts of alcohol with dangerous medication.

I can't infer anything else from his behavior, which was absolutely bizarre and unpredictable. To even claim what Flynn is accused of doing has anything to do with "betraying ones country" is equally absurd. To suggest anything remotely similar should itself be criminal (or should be)

Judges can be low attention span, intentionally dense, paranoid conspiracy theory mongering morons too, sadly. Still, doesn't reflect well on his state of mind or his ability to continue in such a crucial position.

Flynn's charges stem from many corrupt factors, but importantly is the corrupt form 302 used by FBI special agents conducting an interview. Subjects do not give sworn statements nor are they afforded the luxury of directly and formally answering the investigator's questions. Instead, the agents record their impressions of the interview along with other contemporaneous views.

This is problematic for a number of reasons, but seeing the tactics of strong handed Federal prosecutors, this is highly problematic as it can easily elicit guilty pleas from those unwilling/unable to stand against a Federal government that has momentarily singled you out for prosecution/persecution in some instances. The fact some ATSers have suggested the prosecution shouldn't need to present all mandatory/required information is disturbing. These allows heavy handed prosecutors to cajole, threaten or otherwise intimidate the accused of pleading guilty to avoid the potential multi-century sentences, due-process-violating asset forfeiture or soul-crushing assault of a 24/7/365 organized effort at making your life hell.

Government overreach and abuse should disturb all Americans, but it seems only Conservatives are interested in protecting against government abuses. It is astonishing how fast the left will cling to "appeal to authority" fallacies and ignore the obvious and dangerous precedents they are allowing in pursuit of their petty and vengeful aims

They are pretty terrible people, but I am thankful to see many like you and others here not losing sight of what happened here (namely: yet another person previously cleared by the FBI being persecuted by Mueller's witch hunt to half-assed justify its continued expense/existence)

Until proven otherwise, IMO, Justice Emmet Sullivan has the same irrational, crazy, mindset of haters like Maxine Waters, Eric Holder, Nancy Pelosi, AL "the criminal" Sharpton, Louis Gutierrez, and other high-profile radical Democrats.

Seconded carewemust

The founders never envisioned a government so broken as to prevent impeachment of corrupt activist judges who abuse jurisprudence to legislate from the bench or otherwise make policy. Activist judges have no interest in protecting, preserving and defending the Constitution

Obviously Sullivan was ITCHING for his chance to prove himself a loyal Trump-hater to his Anti-America buddies.

He did so yesterday with his brutal verbal assaults on war hero Mike Flynn. And again today, by requiring that deported Illegal Immigrants be brought back to the United States.

Emmet Sullivan was probably normal, until he chose Satan's side.

If something between now and the 90 day period ends, for the new sentencing date...that shows SC Team violated Flynn's rights and/or Mueller is removed..

...did you see the Judge opinion above or not, on the Drug Cartel and how they went?

Clearly looks like we could have a wolf in sheep's clothing....

The delay of sentencing, when 0 jail time was recommended and part of the plea deal agreement,...

Judge that sides with the Chap Guzman is for sure one that needs to be watched closely.

Only one reason comes to mind when a Judge would side with the Cartel, despite the evidence.

As I said above. It was the prosecution that failed to prove their case. I would argue a judge throwing out guilty verdicts when sufficient evidence is not provided is a much worse situation than a judge throwing out innocent verdicts because they're in someone's pocket.

Forget suggesting it, I totally agree he betrayed his country by trying to negotitate with Russia in 2016 when he had no authority to do so and then lying about it. I'll be waiting on your criminal charges for that.

Drain the swamp, mofos, drain it dry.

I am suggesting the Prosecutors and the Judge conspired to make sure the drug lord got off.

“This is the second time in less than three months in a high profile case that the Department of Justice has come before this Court and asked it to dismiss an indictment after allegations that … information was not timely produced to the defense,” the judge said. Sullivan noted the government made its “belated disclosure” about the witnesses after Ye Gon filed a motion for sanctions.

Paul O’Brien, chief of the Narcotics and Dangerous Drug Section, said in court that some of the judge’s “characterizations may not be accurate.” Prosecutors said in court papers that they followed their obligations to disclose material to the defense and did not make any misrepresentations to the court. A hearing is scheduled for July 30.

www.shubinlaw.com...

So Judge dismissed the single indictment case, that was presented by the Prosecution, instead of numerous other charges that could have been filed....because a witness recanted their statement and the prosecution did not notify everyone promptly...

Then you got Ted Stevens also and the other cases that Sullivan reversed..

Audits conducted by Mexican officials between 2002-06 at Unimed showed no improprieties such as improper diversion of any such chemicals. Nevertheless, after Unimed's license to import pseudoephedrine and ephedrine products ended on July 1, 2005, it was alleged that Mr. Ye Gon and certain employees of his violated the law by continuing to import four unauthorized containers of pseudoephedrine or ephedrine precursor chemicals into Mexico in late 2005 and 2006. Only 4 of Unimed's 291 imported shipments (from Canada, China, England, Germany, Israel, Hong Kong and the United States) into Mexico have ever been questioned. In July 2007, the U.S. government filed an indictment charging that the importation of these four shipments into Mexico was part of a conspiracy to aid and abet the importation of methamphetamine into the United States. Two years later, the U.S. case was dismissed with prejudice by The United States District Court for the District of Columbia, in August 2009

In more than six years since the original seizures and arrests, no person affiliated with any of these events has yet been convicted of any crime, either in the U.S. or in Mexico.

The two Mexican Federal agents who were involved in the arrests at the Zhenli Ye Gon mansion were found dead in the southern Mexican state of Guerrero, as reported on August 2, 2007.

The police raid of Mr. Ye Gon's home and businesses in Mexico, on March 15, 2007, took place one day after a high-level meeting occurred between U.S. President George W. Bush and Mexican President Felipe Calderon in the Mexican city of Mérida on March 14, 2007

This is true, but from what I understand, they were not allowed to petition for said asylum and were not heard--they are still entitled to try, even if it's a waste of our nation's time and money (for the most part).

If I'm wrong about that (them being stopped from applying for said asylum), then I guess I need to pay more attention.

Then there will be an awards show hosted by a comedian who will make fun of those who disagree, where trophies will be given for those who displayed the most hate. Of course, smaller participation trophies will be given as well so that no one feels they didn't "win".

Flynn update..

A federal appeals court on Thursday ordered the judge handling the criminal case of President Donald Trump's former national security advisor, Michael Flynn, to respond to a request by Flynn's lawyers to dismiss the case.

The order came two days after Flynn's lawyers asked the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia to drop the case and assign any future court proceedings to another judge.

Sounds like judge Sullivan is going to have to explain how Trump derangement syndrome is causing him to think so irrationally.
