Two people are reported to have been injured after a fusillade of shots was fired in the eastern French city of Strasbourg, police say.
Security official have cordoned off the area and trams have been stopped, according to reports.
The incident is said to have happened close to a Christmas market in one of the central squares, Place Kleber.

The prefecture put the latest toll at one dead and 10 injured.
According to France Info, a man "opened fired on the crowd with an automatic weapon" in the Grand'Rue sector of Strasbourg's centre. According to the mayor, Roland Ries, the gunman has not been caught and he has advised people to come indoors.
