See thats the thing. Im not triggered. Its amusing. When we lurkers of ATS ( those of us who remember what this place was meant for) chime in on threads like this- its to get on record. So then when its proven wrong, we can point to where and when ignorance was actually denied.

The point is to keep people out. Plain and simple, and a wall is highly effective at keeping people out. It will at the very least make is much much more difficult for them, and dissuade the ones who simply walked across an imaginary line in the past. Walls work now just like they worked 5000 years ago. It make no sense to create a wall if you don't tackle the real problem first, as to why the vast majority are coming here in the first place.

Is the first thing you do is build a fence around your property to keep them from coming in while allowing your kid to continue tell people to come and get your stuff. Then continue to tell the world that if they make it across the fence they still get to keep the stuff for free. However , if they get caught they will be sent back over the fence to try again.

Like I said , we shouldn't be writing billion dollar checks as the first defense when we can easily and cheaply kill the incentive that is bringing them a vast majority of them here . Especially when a wall is not needed in the Canadian border and a big difference is simply that Canadians don't have incentives to come here illegally so why not take that incentive from the southern border away first?
