What's going on with the USGS heliplots? Seismic activity everywhere? Broken systems?

That looks nuts!!!

I know there was a magnitude 7.5 quake hit today near New Caledonia at a shallow depth.
I
wouldn't think that would cause all that.

Considering a normal reading looks like the one below, this looks like a global malfunction or something else.

Surprised noone posted that yet..
www.aljazeera.com...

The US Geological Survey said the new earthquake measured 6.6, downgrading it from an initial measurement of 7.0.

Earlier on Wednesday, a shallow and powerful magnitude 7.5 earthquake struck off the east coast of New Caledonia, with the epicentre reported some 300 kilometres east of Noumea.

The undersea quake was only 10km deep and about 155km east-southeast of the Loyalty Islands off New Caledonia's east coast. Earthquakes are generally more destructive when the epicentre is near the surface.

Good catch. Perhaps they took the system off line once they saw what we are seeing.

You're saying the gubment discovered things are going to get nuts and took the system offline to supress the information?

I'm kidding.

But really, if it's a malfunction of the system and they took it off there should be a note on their site saying so.

Weird but why would the charts still be there for us to see? Strange how its supposed to refresh every 30 mins and no notice or update as to why it has not.

Yellowstone looks the most active, out of all of them. Maybe the earthquake from yesterday?

If it was a glitch, it would have been a uniform error, but these reading are all over the map. No pun intended.

Strange.
