I havent particpated in many cortez threads at all actually.
IOn fact, as I said in one of my videos, although from what I read of her i dsilike her socialists policies and feel she is uniformed, I alos know that most of what I have read about her is from media outlets with an axe to grind about her, so I am trying to withold judgement.
As to her statements here, I dont really have a problem at all with them.
Now her color, I had seen a few pictures of her and her color never corssed my mind. All I have read of her background is she was a poor bartender in new york. I didnt read much race stuff, with actually I think is to her credit, though I could have just missed it.
Her name sounded hispanic, but it didnt register with me when looking at her that oh, here is an Hispanic lady.
Here is the first google picture of her I found, which is a fair likeness looking at others.
Here is beto o'rourke, who also has a Hispanic sounding name
Who is more "brown"?
I only know Beto is not hispanic because I saw outlets comment that his first name is actually not beto and he may be going by that to sound more ethnic.
Again, I am not saying I am so beyond race I dont notice it. If ocasio cortez was darker I would have noticed it.
But had I saw her involved in an incident without knowing her name and asked to give a description, I would not have said "brown"

In her tweet, Cortez isn't asking for a raise for herself. She's expressing her surprise and dismay that so many staffers and interns have to work two jobs, one of them being public service and the other being food and beverage service! She's asking that staffers, and interns, be paid a "living wage".
In Hispanic circles she would be considered white. She just gets lots of sun. Her sun tan doesn't make her brown...
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee announced in August that it would pay intern classes in the future after 13 interns signed a letter protesting unpaid internships, which had limited nonwhite and working-class people in the applicant pool. In a June 2017 report, Pay Our Interns, a nonprofit group advocating for more paid internships, found that more than 90 percent of House members don’t pay their interns. In the Senate, 51 percent of Republicans and 31 percent of Democrats paid their interns some kind of compensation. Interns on Capitol Hill shared stories with CNN in early September about the sacrifices they made to be able to work on Capitol Hill, including skipping meals and walking miles in the rain. Congressional interns will spend an estimated $6,000 of their own money during an internship for housing, travel, food and other expenses, according to Pay Our Interns. The new appropriations bill, if signed by President Donald Trump, would add an average of $20,000 for each House member and $50,000 for each senator in an allowance to pay office interns, Vox estimated. Most congressional offices employ several interns at a time.
The MRA for each Representative is calculated based on three components, including personnel , which is the same for each Member ( $944,671 for each Member in 2017 )

I had not noticed her skin color at all. In fact now that I am looking at pictures of her, she seems lighter than many girls I know that would call themselves white, many of whom are italian. i If she had been darker I would have noticed it but it wouldn't have mattered to me. But honestly from the pictures I saw of her i never thought of her as brown.
Noticing something isnt wrong. Insinuating anyone with a problem with her does so because she is "brown" is a joke and clearly only a racist would feel such a thing.
I noticed she is a socialist, I dislike her policies.
Her skin color means absolutely nothing to me.

Careful, your prejudice is showing.
It's comments like yours that show how you have no substance. You invoke the race card when facts are brought up, and the gender card when you feel insecure.
Nobody cares what color or race she is. People seem to care she's so young and inexperienced and seem to be commenting on that. Perhaps play the age card?
