This is the latest news after the prime ministers speech this afternoon :

Edouard Philippe announced a suspension of planned increases in three taxes on fuel for a six-month period starting January 1 in response to nationwide protests against high pump prices and rising living costs.

“This anger, you’d have to be deaf or blind not to see it or hear it,” Philippe said in his address.

“The French who have donned yellow vests want taxes to drop, and work to pay. That’s also what we want. If I didn’t manage to explain it, if the ruling majority didn’t manage to convince the French, then something must change.”

And then he goes on to announce freezes in electricity and natural gas prices until May 2019 and warned protesters against more disruptions.

"If another day of protests takes place on Saturday, it should be authorised and should take place in calm," he said. "The interior minister will use all means to ensure order is respected."

It's already started off again as a prelude to Saturday's round 4

Shocking footage from colleges in Rouen, Nantes, Mantes La Jolie...
Students protesting, getting flash-balled, gassed, whacked and arrested
In one instance, 140 youngsters were rounded up, some handcuffed

These are young kids, between 15 and 18 yrs old

Shades of '68
.........

A co-worker spent all morning on-line checking the general mood ...
"Yeah, we're off for the weekend"

She was stunned to see hints and tips about :
Dissimulating flammable liquid in the lining of back-packs
Dissumulating tennis racket handles, broom handles, hockey sticks
How to make your own slingshot
Single use projectiles using fireworls
Don't forget baby wipes to clean off the pepper spray

Madness

Stunning, considering it's supposed to be a peacefull demo

Part of me (a lot, to be honest)
thinks that Macron wants the whole thing to degenerate
to show to the world that the G-J's are manifestly violent
and that only the troops can calm it all down

I've said elsewhere, this is all easily avoidable
security forces can shut down the quarter for 11th of Novembre
but not now, why ?
