So, Mexico offered asylum. Why did they refuse?

Ask them, no point asking me.

But, all you see is people seeking asylum. I figured you knew more than the rest of us.

Because with Mexican minimum wage being what it is (about $5 US/week), it wasn't much of an offer, perhaps?

So you're admitting it's all an economic issue and not a humanitarian issue? Got it. Move along now.

Economic distress is not a qualifier for asylum. So, that would explain why they did not accept the offer from Mexican officials. Then they are not asylum seekers, right?

"And if the guards used tear gas against unarmed men, women & children as some have said, then who are the aggressors here?"

Your breaking my heart here...Take your family to the Honduran border and say " it doesn't matter who we are and where we came from, we're coming in" See how that goes for you!

Did anyone say that or are you just making that up?

I don't speak Spanish but what I heard sounded quite conversational and wouldn't have carried too far.

If we can make up what they were saying, perhaps they were saying "You have to let me in, I am Donald Trump's love child. Do genetic testing - please!".

Oh look another thread, keep the fear alive man, just don't mention the vast majority of asylum seekers will arrive after the troops go home....

Tow the line and keep your blinders on.

Except the “asylum seekers”, by their illegal attempts to breech the US border, might just ensure the US troops stay in place indefinitely, migrants sure didn’t think that one through!

There you go again, the only people who claim to know what's going on are people like yourself that claim this is an invasion .

Yup. Caught in their own trap. Let's see if the fox will chew it's own leg off to escape this one.

At this point in time your statement is speculation .

Doing what?

I thought it was the task of the National Guard to repel invasions?

Clause 15. The Congress shall have Power to provide for calling forth the Militia to execute the Laws of the Union, suppress Insurrections and repel Invasions.

Umm, they were being offered asylum by Mexico, not from Mexico.

They weren't seeking asylum from Mexico but from the Honduran and Guatemalan governments and cartels.

But the Economic Refugee clauses of the Refugee act of 1980, grants legal asylum.

Again it's you that jumps to conclusions, you think they are invaders, you are adamant, I'm not sure so at this point all we know they are seeking asylum, we know there are varying reasons as to why... Other than that it's all speculation.

Nope. See. Read the above posts. We are using the migrants own actions to create the whole story. Refusing asylum in Mexico. Only stopping in the US and not going all the to Canada. We are actually trying to have a discussion here. Feel free to join in anytime.

A military invasion, no doubt. Which would also apply to the Guard, I suppose. But at least the Guard has some law enforcement authority within our borders.

Whether or not this is a military invasion is another matter.
