You most certainly do support the same type of interference that led to this woman's problems.

I most certainly do not. There you go again putting words in my mouth, something that you do too often! You're also projecting a lot of anger onto me, and I don't appreciate that.

Do not try to claim that Obamacare didn't screw up my healthcare, because I was the one who had to deal with it.

I know nothing about you, your health, your insurance or employment problems. I do know that this kind of thing, that this women in question is going through, happened before the ACA and is still happening now.

I never claimed anything about the ACA at all, but I'll say now that I was extreemly disapointed that Obama didn't ram single payer through, and shove it down our throats, when he had the chance.

Until you get all the insurance companies out of healthcare and make everything covered for everyone, and find a way to pay for it, you're supporting the problem this woman had.

That's what single payer would do. It's the only solution. And, contrary to right wing spin, Medicare for all would be cheaper than the current system.

If you don't like the source, which is also the OP's source, you can go to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez' Twiiter feed to see it.

So NOW Twitter is a trusted news source? How about when Trump uses it?

I prefer to not use Twitter.

This thread is about what Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez tweeted on Twitter.

Why is she a credible source on Twitter when Trump is not?

Why don't you ask the OP? The OP made a thread about what Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said on twitter. I"m just commenting within the thread.

How do you know that single payer would be cheaper? Can our government (USA) even balance the budget today?

Where will the money come from? Do we just print it out of thin air?

Why can't we address why our medical system is so fricken expensive as it is, including pharmaceuticals. Maybe we should fix the pricing before we nationalize it. I can't imagine any scenario where our government makes this situation better.

I genuinely wish you had tax funded healthcare like I do...I've paid many tens of thousands in taxes over the years and still do because the NHS keeps me fit for work with drugs that cost me just over £8 a month.
I've been stitched up, opened up, had stuff removed lol yet all free at the point of need.

...I pay £8 for prescription drugs because I can still work, if I couldn't work my drugs would be free at the point of collection.

All I have to say is, "Thanks government for getting involved with healthcare and making it worse! And so because you made it worse. . . . . you honestly want us to think you'll make it better?"

Wisdom of the wise one!! Heed the wise ones wisdom!!

If she couldn't afford health coverage, then she could get Medicaid -- Medicaid would have been sustainable according to this clinic.

If she fell into the gray area, then it was Obamacare that screwed her like it did so many other people.

Odds are that her insurance plan has a sky high Obamacare deductible of $10,000 (assuming she has a plan), and her plan to cover that deductible are what the clinic finds insufficient.

The OP made a thread pointing out the absurdity of a bureaucrat denying a woman what she needs medically and Cortez pushing a system that is famous for allowing bureaucrats to do exactly what that.

We could go back to the VA waitlist scandal allowing veterans to die while waiting for needed care in this country. The VA being a socialized, government run health care system, but I am guessing that would fly right over your head as well.

So, when people go to a comedy show, and laugh at what the comedian says, are the audience "getting worked up"? Or are they actually laughing and having a good time?

I'll repeat what I posted earlier. I do not think you understand the definition of angry. Just look at the day after the election of our President. Now THAT'S some anger. Something about blowing up the white house and decapitated heads?

Seriously.

See? That's the problem.

I do not want to pay many tens of thousand more in taxes just to add a health care system.

I pay less out of pocket for my current insurance that keeps me fit, does so in a very timely manner, without the big wait lists that government care is infamous for, and I have more of my own money left over for other things I could use like better education for my child or other important things.

Bingo.

If you have to subsidize the premiums for the healthcare to be affordable, then how was the person ever going to make the deductible?

Obama should have been impeached the moment he laid the pen down instead of scribbling out his signature.

They've done financial projections/models that show that Medicare for All would cost less overall. The models take into account what Americans and their employers spend on insurance and deductibles, as well as the cost of Medicare and Medicaid now, and what it would look like if all that moeny was redirected into a single payer system. They found it would cost less overall to fund Medicare for All than the total amount that America spends on health care now.

Yep.

Because she will have to take immunosupressants every day for the rest of her life, not just temporarily. So that $10,000 deductible is going to bite her ever year she has that plan, not just once. She has to have a plan that will be sustainable every year for the foreseeable future.

One very important thing to remember about government ran healthcare. The US government took over a successful whorehouse and ran it into bankruptcy. And you wonder why they keep saying social security is going to go bankrupt in x number of years when that same government can print money on a whim?

So the solution is to get more people to have this terrible insurance?

I never suggested any such thing. Therefore, your entire post is a strawman.

I support single-payer. I support "socialized medicine", especially for life or death issues.

Single-Payer systems usually prefer "death" 😁

Maybe, but if she had a pre-existing condition, she probably couldn't get insurance at all, before the ACA.

I don't see the taxes problem, I've had a good life so far under the current regime of recent times, taxes ain't so bad here, and cancer patients or organ transfer patients get treated free at the point of need.
I know which system I prefer...I'm even on the socialist list of people who have agreed to donate organs after dying in a train wreck or whatever...they can take what they want from me if it helps a fellow human.
