I work home health care working with people with disabilities

For the past four years I have had the privilege of taking my person to be with his family in thanksgiving

I have enjoyed this and love being a small part of happiness for people

However, the down side is I never get to celebrate thanksgiving with my family

So today I get to celebrate with my family and it is a blast

So I just wanted to give a shoutout to everyone who has to work on thanksgiving like me, and gets to celebrate with family afterwards

And even if you already had a celebration and didn’t work, enjoy the rest of the weekend as well!

I remember those days when I started in the same field. The folks that I supported, most of them anyway, didn't go home to their family so we helped them make their own Thanksgiving and it was a blast. A few Holidays I was able to bring them to my house with permission from our Director and their conservators, if applicable, of course.
When I had a pool, it was big fun for them to come swimming.

Now that I don't participate in the hands on support anymore and am a "natural support" I don't get to see them as often.

Enjoy your day with your family and thank you for doing what you do!

I worked this year so that the married people in my crew could be home with their families.

However, that puts me 800 miles from home so no leftovers here, besides indigestion from my casino Thanksgiving buffet...

Happy to do it for them though... they are an awesome bunch.

A toast to those of us that spend time away so that others can be with the ones they love.

I've been on location in the desert for 5 days and feel blessed to be a part of the film community. These people are my family.

Union proud, Union Strong..

Huge shout out, to all the types of healthcare workers, that had to work yesterday, my step sis who works in Hospice included.
But another industry that gets forgotten about, the farmers. They don't ever get a day off.
I'm working in a new industry, that deals with the dairy farmers.
While I didn't have to work yesterday, I had to work today, for the first time in 20+ years. Didn't mind, as everyone else has little kids at work.
Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving!
