They weren't this way before 2016, it's only since then that their guns have been drawn.

"Come tweet, come talk face to face with old friends, insta gram your relatives, ra ra ra..." but now it's all "But don't you dare be politically opinionated against the narrative."

No one joined these places for political reasons, but suddenly it's all wrong to have political leanings against their bent.

So, yeah, sure they have the right... but it's complete rubbish to support it.

But still wrong, when people are suckered into a global and total medium and only then when it has achieved total control, tells them how to think.

It is perfectly fine to ban Conservative voices if you are a Lefty. They see no problem with this because it serves their purpose, however if it was happening to people who spout their agenda we would hear a different tune.

No one is arguing that Twitter has the right to selectively censor people they don’t agree with politically, but it smacks of Facism and is a favorite tactic of Nazis and other authroitarians.

You are a big fan of capitalism, you often gloat of capitalizing on others mistakes in financial matters, especially with the stock market, here's your chance to corner the market..

Might be difficult to do something like that. Ask Gab how it's going. They get deplatformed, lose their host, lose most ways at funding their site but Farcebook and other government run "private businesses" suffer zero consequences for allowing an anti-semetic mass shooter to espouse his ridiculous ideas on their sites

Garbage, if the business was viable, in the case of social media being popular, that's the key right there in that word.. .. Say it out loud... POPULAR it would succeed.

He's right. Gab was started as an alternative to twitter, but as soon as it started becoming popular it was dogpiled and smashed by the big tech companies.

Then the only hope a platform like that has is to fund it own it and make it happen, welcome to capitalism.

#gofundme

Welcome to website advertising, you don't get that on google, facebook, twitter, etc.. Oh wait..

But be a subversive evil bad-think website, and ohh they remove your advertising ability, and then remove your paypal, and other means of funding.

Welcome to cap.. I mean fascism..

That's not the problem. They'd also have to start their own alternative to visa and paypal, and a web host company to host there website. They were basically deleted from the internet....how do you compete with that level of control?

According the the current theme, you don't. And you suck it. Because it's their business.. our freedoms.

And this, they will never understand, till they are forced to buy salty apples from the sweaty man in a grey hat.

Conservatives should exit Twitter en masse. There's no reason not to let the Left have their echo chamber.

When you control the platform, you control speech.

This is what the leftist ideology is all about.

Silencing, censoring.

They are authoritarian fascists. And cowards.

I've followed Laura for quite some time. She was targeted and singled out. She was a dangerous person to the Left because of her investigative work. They shut her down.

The culture war is lost. I just deactivated my Twitter.

It all feels so hopeless.

So much truth in those 4 lines. I have always done my best to look at things in a neutral and open minded way. Not that I was afraid of hurting someone's feelings or saying what I believe but I have always felt that my opinions hold no more weight than anyone else's. And every once in awhile, someone would make a point that was better than my own or maybe worth looking into.

However, with the extreme polarization of the divide in recent times, I just keep getting pushed further and further from the middle and makes me less apt to listen to any other ideas. Truthfully, it makes me sad that I am becoming more jaded and less tolerant because of these jackboot tactics. I am almost to the point of wishing a Civil War pop off just so we can start all over again.

I just cannot comprehend how in a country the size of America that it is so difficult for everyone to just Live and Let Live. At its lowest common denominator, that is what the country was founded on. I don't care what anyone else does, says, thinks or feels. They should be free to live their lives however they wish BUT I want the same in return. The easiest way to get seriously messed up is to take a feral cat and attempt to force it to behave like a socialized house cat. I don't think the Left comprehends just how many wildcats they are cornering nor do they have any idea of how sharp the claws are gonna be.

**Disclaimer** I am in NO way advocating for there to be a Civil War nor do I truly want one. I am just stating that it does not look like things will be able to get any better without it happening. Thus, if it is going to happen no matter what, we might as well get it over with rather than making everyone live with so much hatred and animosity for several more years and then have it happen. Rip the Band-Aid off fast and get it over it.

thehill.com...
So is it a public forum when some want it to be? Is it a private company using public opinion to make money? I get they have terms and condition, good on them. But what I see is a slippery slope.

That is true. But some Despots rule the day for a very long time before they are stopped.

imo, this is just the beginning of censorship of conservative thought. I hope to be wrong on this, but fear I am not.

Hopeless is such a good word to describe it. I guess Obama was right when he ran on Hope and Change. For years I kept asking where all the hope and change was. But it all makes sense now...you have no hope unless you change to their side. I guess I shall continue on with my hopeless life. lol

Censorship is the opposite of freedom.

People are choosing censorship. Hell, it's even being defended here!

We've become conditioned (as a society & culture) to simply accept limits to speech and ideas.

I heard not too long ago, someone say that everyone has freedom of speech, but what differentiates us from the rest is that we used to have freedom after speech.

I hope you are wrong on this too. I PRAY you are wrong. I think you are probably correct, though. That is pretty disheartening to think about.

Yeah, definitely not a fan of her choice of attire for that day. Not the best look for her.

However, we don't really know what the deal was, either. Maybe she was just extremely bloated that day due to some women's issues? I cannot judge because I do not have to deal with those types of things and I'm grateful I don't have to. Plus, most leftists would probably throw a fit if they thought we were judging a woman by her looks.

tbh, insulting a woman's appearance like that would probably get a person banned on twitter........if that person is a conservative, that is.

1. Ilhan Omar is critical of the Israeli government. This does not make her an anti-Semite or anti-Jewish

2. While it is true that some Muslims are anti-Jewish, it is not tru that All Muslims are anti-Jewish. Just like some Christians are anti-Muslim, and some are not.

3. Being Muslim may make Ilhan Omar more conservative regarding some issues such as those involving LGBTQ in her personal life, for herself. It remains to be seen if she will translate that into policy votes or not, however, her public statements have garnered her endorsement by at least one large LGBTQ rights group.

All that being said, Laura Loomer has spouted lies and insults for a long time on Twitter.

Perhaps it’s best to see this as “the Tweet that broke the camels account.”

Peace,

AB

No one is taking away First Amendment rights at Twitter.

Laura lies her @ss off.

Isn’t removing the spread of “fake news” a thing?

Also, corporate censorship is not evil. It’s how I know I can take my kid to a movie and know it isn’t going to have porn or ultra gratuitous violence, etc.

Perhaps Twitter exercising their Corporate rights to censor lies and insults is offensive to those who like/believe those lies and insults? Therefore they feel picked on and victimized by said banning?.

Twitter isn’t at war with conservatives, the are at war with Douchery.
