Two points on that one. The woman involved made an apology and readily agreed to step down. She said she had acted impulsively from having been misinformed on the subject. Not the actions of political madness gone mad.

LIkewise, there were 21.000 signatures on a petition for her resignation. Again not indicative of a massive explosion of political correctness. I could find no information on the petition to defend her position. Likely this is because there was none.

So if anything, the bias of any political correctness in this case swings in the opposite direction with the vast majority of people condemning her for her remarks.

In any event, this gal goofed up big time, recognized it and apologized for it.

So that's OK then? She did not have much choice in the matter. Yes, she was very much condemned. Misinformed? -bollocks.

My point was that I despaired at the fact that anyone could have such a stupid opinion in the first place.

Actually it is. If you haven't noticed, things like this are becoming more and more common. One university even banned students from clapping at events in case it frightened anyone. My best friend's boyfriend works in a place that has literal "safe space" boxes where employees can go to hide if something makes them uncomfortable.

There's a difference between using Capital Letters and USING CAPITAL LETTERS.

There's a difference between content and style.

There's a diference between one memo at one minor college and all universities.

There's a difference between one student union society and all universities.
