I think it has to do with the need to survive.
If there is no real struggle then the generations born and raised in absolute safety are basically born and bred without survival instincts.

You’re right in a way. It has never been more safe than now to be a human being on planet earth in the past 300 000 years, so the drive to survive isn’t has strong. We are basically living Gods compared to all our ancestors.

And yes even taking into accounts all the current wars, famines, economy, mass shootings,wildfires etc...

just thought I would point out that you targeting them as some causal effect and in the same thread denying that these issues have to do with the "Feminist" culture is kind of off and misleading.

Especially in how Men are being targeted today.
MGTOW has nothing to do with refusing to date.
it has to do with rejecting social expectations and dogma that these days work against personal freedom, fulfillment and monetary liberty.

Japan's lack of a dating scene is a far different beast than the US lack (for some people). I think that what we're seeing in Japan is something of a cultural revolution, albeit still wrapped in their very deferential society. People in Japan who millennials or younger (mid 30's and down) have never seen economic growth. All they've seen is stagnation, while they grew up in what were broken families in all but name, pushed to the breaking point mentally in order to do well academically, and witnessed their families work all day to provide... when what they were actually providing was questionable.

The younger folks in Japan simply don't want to live like that. There's plenty of aspects of their culture they do still adhere to, but being a salaryman for a mediocre wage and never seeing your family is something they are outright rejecting.

You mentioned in your OP MGTOW as one of the groups involved with men "Giving up" which is quite the opposite.

I never Mentioned or stated MGTOW was popular in Japan

I've thought about this some more. The hierarchy of competence is broken in Japan and China. It is too skewed towards either the family (China) or the individual (Japan) and has mutated into something akin to the mice experiment in the OP.

This really starts in school especially in China where fighting almost never happens. It allows boys to grow into malformed men who don't know where they are in relation to other males. This sets up their behavior to be similar to the mice which has given risen to the "stylish" metro sexual boy band "man-boys" the ladies here all put photos of as their phone wallpaper.

Recently went to a wine tasting with the wife and she was constantly asked how she got a muscular manly foreign husband and many basic relationship questions even about sex before marriage. That spoke volumes to me that guys like me/that aren't readily available (sans foreign part, I'm .02% of the population).

I'm also wondering biologically if it may have something to do with the consumption of tofu/doufu (soy) which does change into a estrogen like compound within a man's body. I don't touch the stuff nor much soy sauce.

I could go on for days about western issues of Inequality in Judicial and Social stigma but Japans Issue is more ingrained and serious by all accounts of male "Attitudes"

Know who else does that? Radical Islam. Know why they lock their women in the house and put them in oppressive clothing? They claim they love women, and their women are so beautiful, that they need to be locked away and worshipped for their own protection.
