Immigration. Leading to overpopulation, homelessness, and other ills.

Immigration. Big Issue.

If todays current immigration climate is any indication that is a big one.

In your opinions, what are the Biggest Issues facing the U.S.

The stupid. The willful ignorance. The entitlement.

Just those three? Okay. You recognize the problems, how would you solve them?

A short questionnaire before one can register to vote
FORCE folks to learn and not vote in ignorance.

Voting Rights. I agree that is big issue.

I am surprised that a Nigerian friend who recently became a legal US citizen knows a HADES lot more of US Civics than most natural citizens
And upsetting as well

I think communists sum up most of our issues.

For once we agree. The abysmal drug war Nixon started has turned out to be a disaster that should have never started. Drugs are more prevalent now than ever before, our prisons are full to overflow, people are still killing themselves at record numbers and billions of $$'s are sent to drug cartels abroad and crooked bankers laundering it. That farce needs to come to an end.

But it never will. It's the main driver of militarizing police around the nation and exerting control over a once free nation. You can't walk down the street any more without the risk of being subject to illegal pat downs and bodily searches because of it. Our rights are slowly being relegated to the dustbin because of this criminal BS. It just pisses me off to the n'th degree that we have allowed this to happen.

I could go on but I'm getting mad. Too mad to type more.

Edit: I can't even buy my favorite antihistamine any more because of this BS. Have to show a drivers license to buy one box. And it has only created yet another market for the cartels that are shipping it across the border by the tons. Blaaaaa! The drug war really pisses me off.

The biggest issue facing the US is that we have a growing amount of citizens that don't understand what being a citizen of the USA is all about.

We started the "grand experiment" based on the idea that with proper representation, we could all, as citizens, live within a framework of laws and were given free reign otherwise to pursue life, liberty and happiness.

That is pretty much gone now.

Now we are again at a point as a nation that we have taxation without representation.

We have power-hungry politicians with essentially life terms in office that will do anything to stay there.

We have 50 years now of citizens that have been dumbed down by a government that took our tax dollars to do it.

We have a rapidly spreading social divide in this country that seems to be driven by hate.

Also driven by a media that has gone all in to back an ideology that does not work.

What is our biggest issue?

We are going to collapse under the weight of absolute stupidity that is now considered intellectual because stupid people with a degree can air their ideology on a stupid news station and it will be considered intelligent because of that.

Our biggest issue is that we have a part of our citizens that are fighting really REALLY hard to be cattle lead to the slaughter.

For an idea that has never worked, has killed millions of people and ends in tyranny.

And there is no debating with them, talking to them, finding a middle ground.

On a lighter note, if they "win", then in about 30 years or so we can rebuild and it will hopefully never happen again here.

Congress… its a useless red tape machine that does more damage to the country while playing politics than any of our "enemies" in the history of our nation.

We have to break the 2 party strangle hold or we are toast as a nation.

Worst case scenario if 1 more party could leverage its way into the scene that would force the two establishment parties to do coalition type work, which MIGHT slow down the stupid and possibly deliver some bills that are not straight up floating turds that refuse to be flushed.

I think, maybe, we need to rethink our system and try to develop something similar to the UK where the 2 party system doesn't retain a monopoly over our government. Maybe having to create a majority rule by compromising with a 3rd or even a 4th party would serve the citizens better than what we have now.
