Ok, so I watched Acosta on YouTube.

How is he rude?

I can say -- the more he gets Trump to talk -- the dumber Trump sounds.

I think conservatives think Acosta is rude because he is asking Trump legitimate questions, questions that conservatives don't want to be answered - thus, why it is rude to ask them -

Trump himself already applauded a fellow Republican for body-slamming a reporter, so it seems to me like Trump and his followers are more interested in suppressing the free press through whatever means necessary than anything else.

I'm still reading about Acosta though to make an opinion on his reporting.

I am totally biased as you are. But I saw Acosta grandstanding and not being polite, when his turn was over. Sure Trump was mean and orange, but he is always like that, it's his thing. If Acosta is the leader of the press, and has all the rest of the press members blessing, then he should be the only one to have the mic, but I'm not sure it's like that. I think Acosta acted a bit like a dick and I think his "win" here won't seem like such a victory in the very near future, unless you can find some mandate for Trump to have press briefings and is forced to call on Acosta, which I really don't think you will be able to come up with.

At least admit you are biased and only looking at this from your point of view.

ETA: and Trump is just childish enough to spend lots of time making Acosta's job and life difficult.

Actually he wasn't. As far as I am aware he never said that CNN couldn't send another reporter in Acosta's place. He only said he didnt want Acosta to be the reporter sent (by revoking his pree pass).

The White House Press Corps and the White House Corresponents Association are agencied independent of the White House. Reporter seating assignments are predetermined by contract.

Now see, this I didnt know. Thank you for clarifying it. So CNN couldn't just send another reporter in his place. This makes a bit more sense as to why CNN would "fall on their sword" for one reporter.

Trump doesn't have the authority to dictate to media outlets who they hire for what jobs, the questions they ask or the viewpoint of the stories they write. He doesn't have the authority to "fire" reporters who ask questions that he doesn't like or author stories that make him look bad.

That's true, but I would think he has some say on who can and can not enter the white house and for what reasons. I realize the judge sent the order to reinstate Acosta's press pass, so that clearly limits just what and who Trump can limit within the White House. But is it really a win, for anybody, when they don't have to call on Acosta during the press briefings? Doesn't it mean that he is going to have to be removed by CNN eventually, whenever the next contract renewal takes place, so they don't fall to far behind everyone else. Though I guess he can always just report on the questions others ask, or get someone else to ask his questions for him. At this point who knows where this dog and pony show is heading. I still say it was a semi pointless pissing match, for all parties involved.

CNN actually has the most press passes than any network according to Sarah Sanders. They have 50 hard passes to the white house losing one doesn't violate anything. If they went by ratings they would be replaced by bloggers who have larger audiences. What I find interesting is you can tell she doesnt expect him to stay in the white house press pool very long. She went straight into the fact he doesn't have a 1st amendment right to be there and is putting rules in place to prevent his behaviour.

And now I'm confused again lol. If CNN has that many press passes then it really wasn't an issue that acosta lost his, as they really could have send anyone of the other 49 people with a valid press pass to cover the briefings instead. After what Sookiechacha, stated I thought maybe each news conglomerate was issued only one pass or something to that effect. If in truth they have this many to fall back on, then it truly was a dog and pony show and we all just bought tickets, whether we wanted them or not.

Actually I always said it was at most simple assault but would more closely follow what would constitute battery rather than assault and I think in some thread covering this I admitted I was wrong calling it simple assault.

There was no assault from Acosta.

Yes yes we get it she brutally attacked that poor man.....

Your words.

Not mine.

Drama much?

Well lets see, I said initially it was simple assault, then admitted I was wrong but a good argument could be made for battery.

Yet you and the other left wing red brigade love to say he did not touch her, and any video showing that was doctored when it was clear that he did indeed make contact with her.
Since yall are clearly misstating the facts to try and bolster your story why should I waste anymore effort trying to talk to a potato?

ETA: oh and you do realize there is a world of difference between assault and simple assault right?

You're determined to "win" -- aren't you?

Defending oneself from aggressor.

The only assault I see is the intern forcefully trying to grab the mike.

NOTE: excessive wording on your part changes nothing.

Trump hardly ever called on Acosta anyway, except to mock and insult him and CNN. He rarely took his questions seriously or answered them honestly.

Hey, I'm a "a Orange koolaid" drinker (I actually like strawberry better) and I agree that Acosta didn't assault the woman. He's still an azzhat in my opinion, but he better be careful in the future, because nowadays you can be charged with assault for the most frivolous thing:

Taking a mic from someone is not assault either, I am not trying to win but am trying to understand how in Zeus's butt hole people can say she assaulted him, and he did not touch her when he clearly did in every video of the incident on the inter web...

Oh and I could care less about what he said to her, his arrogance is no excuse for forceful contact with a woman doing her job.

Thanks -- true.

However -- as a longtime former Rep -- I know how they think.

Like a privileged aggressive steamroller that think they have the right to shove anything out of the way they don't like or agree with.

When I was one -- they mocked the Dems for not standing up and fighting back. But, "Horrors" if they did "How Dare They".

So -- "YAY" Acosta. This is not the time to back down. It's Fight Fire with Fire time.

Wait that can't be right? Can it? As a Fascist this is very out of character for him. /sarc.

The same people that ride Trump for being a fascist are admitting that he picked a judge that....wait for it.......interprets the law whether it benefits Trump or not.

Hows that for some Cognitive Dissonance?

Hilarious.

The problem is a lot of people seem to think this is "regular rhetoric from political parties." But that sort of people have no idea in what peril the U.S. and our future is. The left-wing media, and most democrats in power, and even many regular left-wingers, are the ones who want to suppress independent media and conservative sources. How many such sources have been "demonetized" and blacklisted"?

It all started with Obama and his socialist/communist buddies/Czars. Obama was the POTUS who took journalists to court for not giving up their sources. (Trump hasn't done this) Obama was the POTUS who stated he wanted to shut down conservative radio stations. Obama was the POTUS who defended and backed violent left-wing groups like BLM even during memorials of police officers who have been murdered by BLM members/sympathizers.

Obama started his "civilian army" which he himself stated he wanted to make as well trained and armed as our own military. Similar to the Chavistas and other communists, as well as Hitler's youth which dictators armed and gave power to meanwhile disarming the rest of the population.

If Hillary had become President, that goal that Obama started would have continued. Obama and his administration labeled people in the U.S. who lean to the right, and have conservative/right-wing views as "possible extremists/possible terrorists." Obama's DOJ used the help of far left-wing groups like SPLC to label political opponents as "hateful right-wing extremists" like Ron Paul and Judge Andrew Napolitano among others, for daring to criticize Obama's policies.

We are still at risk. Obama, Holder and others have been working behind the scenes, even calling people they implanted in government to stop the next President for doing what's best for the U.S. and for it's people. The left-wing media has increased their attacks on conservatives, and others who lean to the right in politics. Left-wing scholars have even claimed POTUS Trump is mentally unstable, similar to how other left-wing dictatorships abused psychiatry for political purposes, labeling political opponents as "mentally unstable" to get rid of them. Yet despite the fact that we have the history to show us how close we are to another far left-wing dictatorship taking control in the U.S., and even dictatorships like "the nazis" used these tactics the left is using in the U.S. today, nobody in the left seems to care.

Nobody in the left seems to care that their favorite far left-wing news sources have been the ones leading "Fake News," but the "fake news" argument is still being used to shut down conservative voices, including in social media which the left is controlling. This is exactly what left-wing dictatorships do, and no one in the left seems to care as long as in the end the far left has control over everything and everyone.

Acosta did not beat on an intern, that’s ridiculous. She was invading his space and he pushed her away. As a conservative, you should understand the concepts of standing your ground and self-defense?

I realize Acosta only gently pushed her away while saying “pardon me” but it is the same concept. Everyone has the right to defend their personal space, especially if they are polite about it.

Sometimes I think you guys are trying to be ignorant. Are you just trying to get a rise out of liberals or something?

Do you have no concept what assault really is?

LoL. Someone should throw a shoe at him every day. Have the White House arrest and then release the guy perpetually.

Then Acosta can brave his freedoms against the tenacity of human nature.

For everyone thinking that this is a win against Trump. LOL

It's all you got. Y'all can have it. Besides, I'm pretty sure lots of Dem leadership will sink thanks to blatant voter fraud across the country.

Either way, we will continue to vote however the hell we want.

You never had to beat Trump. You had to win us back. You didnt and so Trump put a ring on that voter base. All the voting ladies, all the voting ladies,

Guess you didn't catch the midterm results??

Your party might want to consider winning people back... because you're losing more everyday.

What it really proves is that Trump judicial appointees don’t legislate from the bench, understanding where the judicial branch lies in the balance of government...unlike every liberal judge, appointed by liberals, who think their mandate is to legislate from the bench. You’ll never get the liberal dividers in this thread to come to terms with that though, so really not worth the effort.

I do find it telling that the liberals here flock to defend Acosta, the biggest grandstanding narcissistic reporter to pretend he’s a “journalist”...very, very telling.

Not just defending Acosta, defending the Free Press. Because most people with half a brain understand how important it is to have a Free Press.....

NO

Acosta was/is the victim here.

The intern could have verbally requested he hand her the mike.

She didn't. She physically was the aggressor.

Perspective.

Nope. You dont get to play that card.

You and your leftist mob established the rules long ago, now it's time for you and your ilk to stand by them.

It was battery.

A MAN put his unwanted hands on a woman.

He displayed Toxic Masculinity.

She didn't give consent.

He bullied her in the workplace.

Etc etc etc.

You are the leftist. Now start living by YOUR leftist rules.

Do that to a cop and you can bet you'll be sitting in a cell (or lying in a hospital bed) charged with assaulting a police officer.

I'm not saying that's right or wrong, I'm just saying that's the reality. The legal definition of assault depends on the parties involved.
