MONROVIA, Liberia (CNN) -- The U.S. military will send an assessment team to Liberia this weekend, a military official told CNN.
The team of about a dozen people will depart from Europe as soon as air transport can be arranged, the official said.
The team's task will be to determine the requirements for a peacekeeping mission in Liberia, which could include troops from the United States and
the Economic Community of West African States.

is this the next place america is going to get involved in? i don't know too mucha bout the liberia situation, but it is good that their leader
sees that he has lost and will step down without a fight, the last thing we need is even more war in Liberia, enough people have been killed over
there. the only problem i can see is possible fighting between the two rebel factions. 1ooo or so american peacekeeps are expected to go.
