All Republican members should nominate and back Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

She seems pretty confident if you ask me. LOL.
More nonsense Foxy?
In any event she gained another two members for her team today.

We didn't...

but if you must go there, when has she not looked confident? She looked pretty confident in 2010 when her party was fed its own ass on a silver platter by a national electorate completely done with her special brand of horsecrap. Which is why I support her bid for speakership 100%, in fact... I demand it.

I'd be OK with that, too.
While nutty eyes lacks Pelosi's mental fog and old age plus Botox addled and confuse brain, she makes up for it with blunt vapidity and cluelessness. Likely an even trade-off in more ways than one.

I hope she is the speaker.

Should be an entertaining 2 years with this vapid harpie at the helm of the House.

I read this this morning. Really good thing. Get all the corporate democrats out of office. Kamala Harris, Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Shummer, etc etc. Actual liberals are taking over the party, many of them inspired by Bernie Sanders. If you're going to have a liberal party, you should have a liberal party.

You guys act all crazy about Cortez from new york or whatever her name is, but it's just like Trump. I'd rather have someone that says what they mean to my face no matter how off the wall, then be a sneaky politician behind my back like Pelosi and like Ted Cruz etc.

According to vox news. She doesn't have enough votes to become speaker.

I would say 17 junior members is hardly a mandate nor is it critical. She wants it and she will get it, at least for awhile. The new brand of Democrats do not have what it takes to unseat a money machine for the party, and she does raise the cash

Still it's good. The sooner our Two party system starts cracking and we get more parties and less central control over our candidates, the better our country will be. There are cracks in the armor. There was a big crack in the Republican armor. Donald wasn't supposed to win the nomination. Things are changing.

If I understand things correctly, that number would need to reach 32 to be a catastrophe for Pelosi, assuming the Dems signing on to refuse to vote for her will vote for a different Dem rather than whoever the GOP may propose as their Speaker if they had the numbers. If, however, they reach 32 Dems who flat refuse to vote for Pelosi, the GOP can run a GOP candidate they all support and beat Pelosi for the Speaker position 199-198 with 32 "other" votes sitting on the sidelines.

I don't think it can happen, mainly because the Dems would withdraw Pelosi and pick someone else once they hit the magic 32 number of Never-Nancies, but damn would it ever be a laugh riot to witness.

All that said, I support Pelosi 100% for speaker. The last time she was in that position, she contributed greatly to ensuring the GOP regained the House and I expect nothing but the best GOP campaigning from her again if she's in the same role.

Contrived drama to make Pelosi look like an embattled person who "barely" won.

Makes her look like an "outsider" and more palatable to the masses.

Wow. Brilliant. I had not considered the strategy of starting down, and pulling a Gramby for the reverse points.

Maybe Riding the Bus with My Sister...

Rosie does a great performance as a Dem Congresswoman in that gem of a film. Should have won an Oscar.

Many democrats ran saying they wouldn't vote for Nancy as to appear to be more moderate.

But they will vote for her because;

1) No one will run against her
2) They'll find someone so obscure and outlandish, that they'll be "forced" to vote for Nancy.
