Don't forget the Madden franchise in all of this. EA's exclusivity deal with the NFL gave them a free pass to turn Madden into little more than a microtransaction hell. MUT was a very cool idea when they first launched it, but it sure became an excuse to charge players for every "feature" quickly.

I quit gaming altogether after they first torpedoed Command & Conquer after buying up Westwood, then did the same with DICE & Battlefield.

The only one left to be trusted is Rockstar

While their games aren't my cup of tea, they're widely renowned and always get great reviews, look great and run smooth.

I'll give you that battle for the above, your conviction, and passion haha.

They do good work. I just never was able to get into The Witcher games though, but just because they didn't snare me doesn't mean CD Projekt Red didn't do a bang up job on them.

I am watching Cyberpunk with interest.

Bethesda really should hand the Fallout franchise development contract over to Obsidian and never touch the license again outside of publishing Obsidian's works.
In my opinion, they should stick to their biggest money maker, The Elder Scrolls.

Fans have been waiting for sooooo long on the next installment, it's driving me nuts.

Loved Skyrim, including the special edition on the One X.

As for Battlefield, I'm honestly waiting for the next Bad Company, that is what started the whole series. B1 and B2 were really good and after that, nada mas. Just Battlefield.

I have successfully boycotted EA all year. They are just awful right now.

Besides with RDR2 who needs anything else

The only drawback to any Bethesda Fallout/Skyrim game ?
They use the old Papyrus scripting engine
Obsidian should stay within their original style
Their 3rd person overhead games that make them who they are

And , I hate to break the news to you...

The problem with expecting companies to stick only to their old stuff that was successful is if they all do that, we'll never get anything new.

Too many franchises stuck in ruts right now.

I think overall this has been the best year for gaming this generation of consoles.

Think about it.

God of war
Spider-Man
RDR2
Monster hunter
Detroit become human
A tomb raider game
Hit man 2
Assassins creed oddisy (not had time to even look at that
Spiro is back
Even Xbox got a new forza horizon

Honestly don’t think we gamers can complain even if EA and activision are taking the piss and Ubisoft didn’t announce a new splinter cell at E3 it’s still be a amazing year.

Bad company didn’t start the whole series that would be Battlefield 1942, out of all of them I think I put the most time in to Battlefield Vietnam.

I'm just saying Fallout: New Vegas by Obsidian was superior to any FO game Bethesda has internally developed so far. They knocked it out of the park so monumentally that Bethesda won't let them near the license again for fear of Obsidian's success making gamers refuse to support Bethesda's own attempts at Fallout games.

Aside from RDR2, the best of 2018 struggle to top 2017's top titles in my opinion. Last year the Switch, alone, ran up the score. Mario, Zelda BOTW, Mariokart 8, Splatoon 2, and the Xbone/PS4 scene was pretty solid with Cuphead, RE7, Wolfenstein 2, and (stressing neither of these is my thing, but acknowledging they exist and have proven to be MASSIVE content drivers) PUBG and Fortnight both appeared to defend the virginity of gamers everywhere.

The only game I care about is Diablo Immortal!!!

Hahaha Kidding! We all know it's cash grab garbage like all this other pay-2-win pollution.

Aside from a few mythic examples, games have been ruined the last 5 years by this "pay 20,000 to win this crap game" crap.

I think we need laws governing this market and simply flat out prohibit most forms of gaming micro transactions.

These predators prey on children and mentally challenged.

Oh, and Battlefield 1942 was the best in the series.

I have very fond memories of back in college my dorm buddies got me to try Red Alert 2, Diablo 2, and Warcraft 3 with them, very fun times.

That was in 2001 before phones ruined gaming.

For some odd reason Pubg and Fortnight didn't interest me at all.

I haven't really had any interest in games in 4 or 5 years honestly.

I think $omething went terribly wrong in the industry and it's been a downward spiral since.

I like pubg because it's very technical, you get one life.

That said, it is a money grab and they haven't improved it at scale with sales.

I've never played either. Online gaming is cancer.
