It differs from patriotism, regardless of some dictionary quote.

I suppose if a definition doesn't fit your agenda, then you just rewrite it ? Patriotism has also been redefined as racist when it too fails to meet the agenda. I suppose there will soon be a rewrite of collusion to fit the agenda as well as a drive to make it an actual criminal act. I suppose I can make up definitions and read people's mind as to what they really mean ?

If you like dictionaries, here is a great write-up from Merriam-Webster on the differences between them. 150 years apart in origin, nationalism didn't even come into play until much later. Patriotism is a general term, used with valor or bravery, or courage... nationalism is used with a specific purpose, usually political.

It's a good read.

I'm not going anywhere, so go ahead prove the picture wrong. Which one of those people are not House freshmen?

You should have stayed at gone.

Why does the parties diversity only include freshman?
Shouldn't all reps count?

Nationalism only has a color and a creed to the left.

Because they are bigoted racists who only think about gender and skin color.. as your OP and all your responses point out.

To normal people, nationalism is the opposite of globalism.

Doesn't have anything to do with skin color or gender.

BUT!!!

Since the left can't get a vote anywhere on "let's globalize America!!!" they have to use the same tired old "diversity" ploy to attempt to get done what they need done.

Let's be honest.

Institutionalized racism in America would mean that it is culturally accepted and codified into law.

So the only actual institutionalized racism in America is against white males.

Otherwise, we would not have laws on the books (See: Affirmative Action) and we would not see in our culture a widespread acceptance of belittling a white male, or treating them as a problem.

So look up the definition of virtue signaling, sit down and let the adults figure out how to fix the mess America is in.

All you are is a part of the problem.

This is called projection.

When one party elects ALL white men because of bigotry and misogyny and then decides to project that moral ineptitude onto the opposition. (as if anyone with brains would fall for that)

That poster of the 116th Congress Member-Elect proves everything you said wrong. Everything.

Look top poster - all white men.

Look bottom poster - real America represented.

I'm a minority female.

What I saw in the picture you posted was a bunch of people.

When you get to the point where you can see past skin color and gender, then we'll talk.

Until then you are judging people based on their gender and the color of their skin.

So a racist.

Have a nice night...

Once again, your party elected all white men.

My party did not look at color or gender and voted like America would. Everyday American mix of people.

No matter how you spin this, no matter how many times you try to reverse what it means: your party elected ALL WHITE MEN.

I don't have a party sweety... I'm a fiscal conservative/social liberal.

And I'm not spinning anything... you are completely focused on the gender and skin color of elected officials to try to prove that Republicans are racist and misogynist.

So all you are actually proving is that you are.

By definition.

You don't understand... I get that.

Because you're racist.

People reading this thread will get it, however.

More projection, Lumen. You stand on the alt-right, support everything Trump says and does, support every right wing view, then call yourself a social liberal and project onto the other side your alt right views, and say that they are bad, all the while supporting them.

I can't even comprehend this schizo-convoluted mess of thoughts.

I give up. Sweety.

By the way, I think you guys took the term "White House" way too literally. Tone it back for 2020. Add at least ONE non-white member. It might look good on you. And it might give your arguments at least a semblance of validity.

Good night, sweety.

Looks to me like one party worries more about diversity than ability....

Based on what?

Personal opinion that women and ethnicities aren't as capable?

Personal opinion that diversity of skin color and gender does not automatically equate to capability.

If they all vote in lock-step with the Democrat leadership then all the talk of diversity is for crap.

Sorry, but y'all just can't roll along and decide that nationalism means something new (i.e. equating it to patriotism). But hey, why break precedent right? After all the right has already, for the sake of fear stoking, attempted to redefine socialism, communism, the kkk, racism, left-wing, marxist, etc. And when talking about Trump the right also seems to have new definitions for truth, infidelity, honor, respect, facts, strategy, etc. etc.

"Nationalism" has always had a superior, extreme, racial undercurrent, & an "at the expense of other nations" bent. No one is buying it but the Trump cult. Not here in the US, or anywhere else. And just about every definition everywhere mentions something along those lines as part of it's definition.

"Patriotism" is another story... but I wonder why the right doesn't think that goes far enough. Hmmmm.
