have you heard of a President traveling 2.5 hours by motorcade? Lets be honest. You'd have given him flak for all the traffic if he had.

Hmm hmm
Keep doubling down on the uninformed twaddle

Let me ask you, rhetorically
(that means you don't need to reply, ok?)

How fast could the Trump motorcade drive on an empty motorway (!) ?
I doubt very much that the 'Beast' moves, flat out, pedal to the metal, at 20kms an hour...

The cemetary is not in Lille, Strasbourg or even Le Mans
It's fifty klicks outside of Paris...

50
not 500

It's a straight forward, 30 odd minute drive
on the motorway, in a straight line, with no obstructions

Let's just be honest here:
Trump couldn't be assed to honour dead servicemen from the great war
because it was wet outside

Sounds as though you get your dose of reality from Trump's Twitterbating

I'll just correct one falsitutude:
No. The french were not learning German as the 'Boche' were invading Paris
It was the other way around, some soldiers were learning a minimum of French to get around

Another detail that may escape younger viewers :
a lot of the german soldiers that poured in to Paris
we're originally from the recently annexed eastern region of France
(Alsace, Lorraine...)

Which means that French was their mother language...

Of course, we could always go even further back in history
and affirm that if it wasn't for the french,
in the ÜS today, everyone would be speaking in 'plummy'
Standard Recieved English

And drinking tea and smoking crumpets at 3 in the afternoon

Few Want to Admit It, but the French Saved America During the Revolution

President Donald Trump, during a visit to Paris for Bastille Day, said, "France is America's oldest ally. A lot of people don't know that,” and added, “France helped us secure our independence, a lot of people forget.”

Our problem is not that we have forgotten France’s aid, without which the Revolution might not have been won at all, or not been won by 1783; it is that we are too beholden to our own myths to accept and appreciate how much we owe to outside assistance.

Spoken like a troll who never served. Is this you ted? Don’t be upset that I turned you down on your last so called tour. Emotionally unhinged, lol. Don’t hate on me because you can’t garner an original thought. And by all means, keep pissing on a thread that’s about dead veterans, more specifically world war veterans. And the utter disrespect the orange ooompa looompa showed over the weekend.

Riiight, I'm not the one crying about POTUS and no, I don't know your BF ted, keep that to yourself.

Yes, emotionally unhinged and you don't disappoint, for the record, nothing original about you, its all "Reeeee" in every thread.

Don't preach respect, you know none son, you're just a boy.

You guys are pathetic! Not standing for the national anthem is a legal form of peaceful protest, which is a First Amendment right. It's exercising our constitutional right to make a peaceful statement. There's a long history of sports figures doing so!

It's rather alarming considering conservatives always stood on the side of less government control. Instead, you're standing by a President who not only wants to control a constitutional right of a free press, but also the rights of Americans to peacefully protest. If that isn't hypocritical enough, conservatives claim to have the moral high ground, yet stand by a president who belittles, name calls, lies, and separates migrant children from their parents at the border. If you think that's so christian like, ask yourself would Jesus Christ himself act in this way? I think not.

You Trump supporters want Americans to become passive and afraid to speak-up to our government leaders and representatives! This is exactly why the people of tyrannical governments have fear to express themselves and protest. A government that doesn't protect their people from peaceful protests or allows free expression is simply govern by a dictatorship. A president or representative is no better than the citizens he or she represents. Yet this president is firing and re-placing an attorney general to help him from being prosecuted and to derail a legal investigation into government corruption. What American citizen would be allowed to do such a thing? He's not above the law, yet he can manipulate the legal system for his own protection! Conservatives should be ashamed of themselves for supporting a president who has shown himself to be a wannabe dictator. I always thought both Dems and Repubs would hold up their oath of office "to protect support and defend the Constitution of the United States." Unfortunately, it seems like party is much more important than country.

Here you go, educate yourself on past national anthem protests...

U.S. National Anthem Protests

Did you ever ask anyone what their issue was with all that? It's not that they protested, it's not that their message is in any way bad, it's that we didn't want to be preached to about a divisive topic while we were trying to enjoy a sporting event, and they were being paid in part, because fans paid to see them. Protest all you like, on your dime. And I thought the anthem was a poor choice of event to protest during. Why not do the worm during the coin toss or something.

People also paid to see the '68 Olympic athletes perform. There were black power salutes while standing on the medal podium during the national anthem! Happened in front of people who were in attendance from other competing countries. So really your point is mute.

Once again, twice in three days to be exact, the occupier of the White House failed to honor America’s war dead. I realize the right wingers won’t care as they only listen to what he says, and pay no attention to what he does, or in this case, doesn’t do.

I find the irony in this paragraph too much to handle. I keep laughing. You're literally whining about a ceremony (An opportunity for a photo op) while claiming the right doesn't care what he does, only what he says.
1) Trump funds the military (action)
2) Trump is fixing the VA (action)
3) Trump personally has donated his salary to veterans groups on more than one occasion (action)
4) Trump enacted the forever GI Bill (action)
5) Trump has pushed reform to benefits appeal and it should be signed soon (action)

Meanwhile you're mad he didn't show up for a photo op ceremony (words). Look, I'm not pleased with him not going. I don't like it one bit. But there's one thing consistent about trump, he supports the veteran community. If he skipped one or two of these things it was because he had to. As we found out after the fact with the helicopter debacle. It was a 2.5 hour drive to the ceremony and the secret service told him he shouldn't due to multiple factors, including a recent attempt on Macron by terrorists.

Trump did attend veterans events in France including another ceremony at a different cemetery. Trump did arlington last year, didn't he? You guys are making a mountain out of a molehill for some cheap political points. It's dumb, and transparent.

Also, pence didn't go to Arlington. Do you think he doesn't care about veterans as well?

Insulting the helo crew and secret service is unacceptable.

It’s amazing to see just how far the right has sunk. I remember a time when placing the wreath at the tomb of the unknown soldier was a big deal. Didn’t matter who was the president was.

I would like to take a moment to thank the French contingency who showed so much respect by laying the wreath instead.

Did tRump even take the the time to tweet about it? Or did he just offer up discounts on his made in china crap? On second thought I’m glad he didn’t desecrate that sacred place. Who wants a draft dodger in their presence anyway?

If he would have taken motorcade there... you would be bitching about THAT.

But... hey, not everyone can be a an expert meteorologist AND experienced rotary winger like you. Yeah... Marine One's pilot is probably the best large Sikorsky pilot in America, or close to it. Unfortunately he didn't have YOUR experience, and called poor conditions for rotary wing aircraft.

Maybe you could get a job flying Sikorskys OP?

I’m
Pretty sure the other Globalists there didn’t give a c($& about the veterans. Why isn’t anyone talking about what a jerk Macron was griping about nationalism. He’s a socialist and the only thing he’s interested in is not letting Trump make his country pay. I’m totally sick of this socialist nonsense where people expect others to pay their fair share then whine about having to pay up.why doesn’t Macron just take his Komrade Ocasios advice and “just pay it”! Oh and the bit about nationalism being selfish and not caring about others was priceless. The dude is clueless. His statements show that he truly is a globalist without loyalty and honor to country only that fake loyalty to the one world government. www.google.com... -of-patriotism/2018/11/11/aab65aa4-e1ec-11e8-ba30-a7ded04d8fac_story.html
