In a tweet earlier today Trump had this to say:

There is no reason for these massive, deadly and costly forest fires in California except that forest management is so poor. Billions of dollars are given each year, with so many lives lost, all because of gross mismanagement of the forests. Remedy now, or no more Fed payments!

Trumps Twitter

Trump’s claim that the wildfires are due to forest mismanagement has been rebuffed by multiple firefighting organizations.

The presidents of two professional firefighters associations have denounced President Donald Trump's assertion that "gross mismanagement of the forests" is to blame.

Additionally this isn’t the first time that Trump has made up fraudulent reasons for the wildfires in California. Earlier he blamed the fires on bad environmental laws without ever pointing out what those laws were and that water was being diverted to the ocean. There has never been any proof of either of those claims by Trump.

Welcome to America where out President just makes up crap and his supporters believe all the crap he makes up.

Having come from there I can tell you he is entirely correct.

When you can't even partially clear, much less log a forest, all it does is add more and more and more fuel until something catches it on fire.

Even worse when you are not allowed to step foot on it because we need to save the ghastly flatulent slug, or whatever the eco-terrorists are planning to save that year.

Lots of California firefighters and a couple State Fire Marshalls in my family... they all say the same.

My own grandfather used to say that they need to plant the tree huggers in a seat and show them film of deer running out of a forest fire... on fire.

Maybe then they will get a clue.

Not possible in your case because Trump BAD RRhheeee....

But for thinking people on ATS it's a no-brainer.

The Native Americans in the area used to do their own controlled burns.

Why can't an "eco-friendly" population figure it out?

Yeah so made up. And yet if you Google anything prior to last month...

Cal Fire Chief Blames Wildfires on Mismanaged Forests

California's deadliest wildfires were decades in the making. 'We have forgotten what we need to do to prevent it'

Pyne... is the author of more than 30 books, most on the cultural and social effects of wildland and rural fires around the world. He is completing a 10-volume history of fire in the United States....

...the culmination of nearly a century of failed fire management practices that have been unable to address the increasing escalation — and conflict — between California's growing population and development, and California's intrinsic "fire proneness."

Fire management, Pyne argues, is not a technological or scientific problem. This is a societal and political problem.

The title of this thread should be BlackJackal makes crap up.

Bet there's big money being sifted from those "Funds".

A full investigation will send the rats scurrying.

Wonder what Dianne Einstein and Axine Waters know ?

How do you reconcile this information then?

Estimates by the U.S. Forest Service put the number of dead trees in California forests at 102 million, broad swaths that officials call a wildfire and public safety risk.

Declaring a state of emergency last fall when the count stood at 40 million, Gov. Jerry Brown ordered state agencies to clear the hazards.
a reply to: BlackJackal

www.latimes.com...

Others take a more conventional view, laying blame mostly with the Forest Service, which through the suppression of forest fires and the enforcement of environmental regulations (the spotted owl is often cited), allowed the forest to become overcrowded.

And this?

California Today: 100 Million Dead Trees Prompt Fears of Giant Wildfires

The more than 100 million trees that died in California after being weakened by drought and insect infestations have transformed large swaths of the Sierra Nevada into browned-out tree cemeteries. In some areas more than 90 percent of trees are dead. This week a group of scientists warned in the journal BioScience that the dead trees could produce wildfires on a scale and of an intensity that California has never seen.

Yep you forgot to post his other tweets. Edge on the negatives like the leftish US media in general thankfully you have Fox. Haters gonna just hate.

More than 4,000 are fighting the Camp and Woolsey Fires in California that have burned over 170,000 acres. Our hearts are with those fighting the fires, the 52,000 who have evacuated, and the families of the 11 who have died. The destruction is catastrophic. God Bless them all.

These California fires are expanding very, very quickly (in some cases 80-100 acres a minute). If people don’t evacuate quickly, they risk being overtaken by the fire. Please listen to evacuation orders from State and local officials! 10:20 PM - 10 Nov 2018

Dumb is rabidly chasing the next inane criticism of the president simply because someone pointed in a random direction.

Google any article on the subject prior to his tweet. What was the lefty media saying then?

Exactly what the president tweeted.

I swear you people must be sniffing glue.

Maybe Trump should take it up with Zinke, as he heads the Dept of Interior and the Forest Service, since 60% of those forest and grass lands are under federal management.

Your article is from last year........ Plus your Forest mismanagement example is the 102 million trees that died because of the 4 year drought. Yep, they should have saved those trees somehow...... Additionally, there was an emergency declaration passed to deal with the dead trees. That is 102 million dead trees, what else should they have done bub? It would take upwards of a decade or more to remove all those trees. But yeah, your moron overlord knows what he’s talking about.

While human error continues to be the leading cause of wildfires, the number of dead trees and densely overgrown brush are responsible for some of the most damaging and difficult to control fires.

In October 2015, Gov. Jerry Brown issued an emergency declaration to address the number of dead and dying trees as a result of extended drought conditions. An estimated 102 million trees died between 2010 and 2016 during the Golden State’s devastating drought, with about 62 million perishing in 2016 alone.

I worked for both the U.S forest service and cal fire in the 80's. The simple fact is neither manage forest land properly, nor have they since the early 1900s. To that you can add the fish and game department who would benefit greatly from old growth brush removal, which cannot be removed in prescibed burns, thus need hand removal. I was a actual forester, not law enforcement or fire fighting . Foresters are few and far between now days ( the acres that a Forester is responsible for has more than doubled since the 80's ), due to the collapse of the commercial timber industry. I would hold more credence if the head forester of the state or regional guy from the U.S forest service had written the protest letter. Fire Fighters do not manage forest land, Foresters do, but fire crews are usually the crews tasked with much of the work.

It doesn't even matter if California's forests are mismanaged or not. The fact that is President is essentially threatening to withhold federal disaster relief funding to push a political agenda while tens of thousands of Americans have seen their entire lives go up in flames is absolutely callous and abhorrent.

I don't see how anyone can defend him for that disgusting display.
