Part of leading is drawing out the strengths of people, learning their weaknesses, and choosing how to delegate with what you have.

Well said, and every manager should pay attention to those goals if they want a smooth running company.

Wrong when put in a managers or supervisors role, you are there to make sure company is not losing money, and an effort to improve bottom line profit, not to appease labor, company's think of labor as a loss, your job is to keep them motivated and to use extra effort

Good managers should have a vision/goal. Problems arise when/if they either don’t have one OR they fail to align themselves with their own vision/goal OR they exempt certain employees from that vision/goal OR they establish an entirely different criteria for an employee for unproductive reasons such as personal relationships or petty politics.

Why get into a position of responsibility and authority...if you're just going to be an assjerk!

Yeah screw the employees trying to get stuff done. As long as that salary keeps pumping into your account, right?

If you're a manager or a supervisor your job is to help your team do their jobs better. You're there to offer your help, experience, and guidance. What is the freaking point of taking an 'every man for himself' attitude if you're going to be a 'boss.'

Really? Like really?!

If you're ambivalent, annoyed, hostile, condescending, then gtfo and go find a position you can actually handle because these are NOT the qualities of a good leader.

Insecure manager.
