I always say when there are no more homeless, jobless, people without health care, the environment is saved, and severe poverty is wiped out, as humans have the capacity to do now, I might just become a conservative.

I’m a practical and humanitarian liberal. I am for the death penalty for murderers, for more severe criminal penalties against rapists, and crimes against people and not crazy about abortion and free love, though I am 100 percent for LGBT rights, though do not accept forcing people to do something against their religion, also I’m am NOT for open borders.

But when it comes to helping and assisting human beings I am proudly a liberal

And the recent 10 year battle by conservative Republicans in the courts and in the Congress where they tried to get rid of not only Obamacare but its vital elements such as protections for pre-existing conditions, thank God is over!

And like when the conservatives fought Social Security, unemployment insurance, and child labor laws, all liberal plans to progress society forward, universal Health insurance for ALL Americans is now closer to realization. Of course no thanks to the Republican Party

All thanks are to the members of the US Senate and Congress and the people who fought and defeated the effort to defeat the humane and needed cause of universal health insurance.

Finally, even the republican senate and Trump himself understands the American people want at least Obamacare and actually a better more improved one.

I commend the victory of the American people

Unless they disagree with you, as your posting history confirms.

Unlike yourself, insurance companies are not partisan. They donate to whoever gets the best ROI.

Yep another win for them big corporations! If you pay taxes, you're footing the bill.

I commend the victory of the American people

Look, I don’t like corporate American dominance and greed either but it’s the best we can get within this system at this time.

Until it comes time to pay for it. And the wealthy move their capital over seas. Then what? Venezuela here.

You don't like them but will settle with the tyranny in pursuit of your virtue signaling goals?

Help me understand here.

Why is our tax money being spent on our healthcare a bad thing?

Power concedes nothing easily

One has to get what one can within the confines of the system. No one wants communism or socialism so we have to be moderate in our goals until the power is within the grasp of the lowly by the hand of God…

Over time it can be made better or closer to single payer

Nothing, and the ACA will go away soon enough, since it was written to fail.

However, the OP believes CNN.

If the OP really wanted to take care of the homeless situation, I wonder how much the 60 billion a year our government spends on illegal aliens would help our citizens?

The rest is just partisan drivel.

Like pre-existing conditions... the Republican bill covered them.

Shot down by Democrats.

Who would rather bankrupt the country and push our personal taxes over 40% to pay for it, thus cratering our economy.

No need to think ahead though... here's your DNC shiny for the day!!!

The next two years are going to be fun, I think.

When most of the country doesnt want something and its done anyways, usually, you dont thank "The people".

Thats like thanking "The people" for the bailouts to the banks over the last financial crisis.

Your welcome? Im saying that to my government I guess...and the large corporations and banks that fight to control it.

Like those banks and large insurance companies that celebrate and fought for Obamacare over the actual will of the people.

Stop it with math and basic economics.

NPC's don't do well with that.

When they first through liberal progressive struggle got unemployment insurance, Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid there was a battle against that as well, but now these are universally accepted programs.

Sure we need to make them better but social progress has been made. Sure, not fast enough for us but were at least going forward.

That's what you think happens?

Record insurance company profits in conjunction with pharmaceuticals would say that is NOT where your tax dollars are going.

Feed it...maybe it will go away.

Sound logic Will.

Health care costs are ridiculous these days, and it is not just because of Obamacare. Republicans sabotaged that one! I think it is an important issue to address. I know many people who can't afford health care.

Obamacare is not liberalism

Liberalism is a political and moral philosophy based on liberty and equality.

NOT liberalism. Government mandated programs are not liberal or liberty they are communist or socialist or command

Your talking untruths. The GOP still has a suit to get rid of pre-existing conditions which the Trump White house supported

In a lawsuit led by Texas officials that has percolated into federal court over the past year, 20 GOP officials across the country have argued that most of Obamacare—and its mandated preexisting-conditions coverage, chiefly—should be declared unconstitutional after Congress’s decision to invalidate the law’s individual mandate in its major tax reform in 2017.

www.theatlantic.com...

People saw through the GOP subterfuge of all of a sudden claiming they are for it while for years they tried to repeal it.

When have we ever had a fully funded public healthcare system? There have been steps made towards it but the current administration is trying to destroy what progress was made.

It’s isnt an instant type of thing where you flip a switch and everyone just automatically has free healthcare. It has to be taken in steps. It seems everyone sees the first step towards a workable system and freaks out.

You do realize that liberal progressivism has been tried before and doesn't work?

All it does is consolidate power in the government, which then becomes tyrannical (see. Human Nature). Then a lot of people die. Then the country goes bankrupt.

All helped along by people such as yourself, which are referred to by your leaders as "useless eaters." (See. Kissinger.)

I think your heart is in the right place.

I only wish your brain was.
