You'd sure think it did if you believed some of the responses here!

In fact, you'd think the entire Constitution of the United States of America was at stake over Jim Acosta's press pass being revoked!

Wasn't it Jim Acosta himself who was one of the Founding Fathers and the original author of the 1st Amendment to the US Constitution????

The HORROR!!!

Good! There should be consequences to these aggressive interrogators.

Wow.. if that's classed as being aggressive and an interrogation I can only imagine what our grandparents would say. Y'know the ones, who fought in the war. With bullets and bombs etc. But this Acosta thing is also what you call aggressive. Good grief, grow a spine man, you're embarrassing.

Here is a video for you, it might make you realise what women are actually capable of instead and putting things into a bit of perspective.

OK he was an aggressive ass with no class.

I agree. If Trump had any class he would have just given Acosta the podium and taken Jims seat among the reporters.

If he had any class, he would have actually answered a few questions rather than rant about himself the whole time.

If he had any class he wouldn't have mocked and danced on the graves of his own GOP politicians that lost in purple districts mostly because they were associated with HIM.

Ad infinitum..

If Trump had class? It's like pondering if night was day.

WELL SAID

If they think a 2-time adulterer (paid for, no less) has class, I no longer wonder how a nation of people could tolerate a tyrant who bans repoerters that disagree w him.

Obama?

Is there some address I can mail you a "whatabout Obama!!!" t-shirt too? Maybe for Christmas?

I have a degree in journalism from the top UK Uni which trains all main newspapers and broacasters Robert Beers was my main tturor - your quote is a discussion on journalism ethics it has nothing to do with law - ask any news org, lawyer, journo - this has never happened in history. Cornel is a bit weak, about30th of the size of my Uni's journalism dept.

The section on ethics even backs his action due to public interest defence.

TL
R - There's no such thing as a press pass, his pass has not been revoked, Sanders/Secret service have suspended his 'fast track/queue jump access'.

ETA: Did you mean BIJ or TBI earlier? Been working with them in turtles on and off since 2006, Frontline, S****etc Press and developed weaponised automation for UCL to combat the impact agenda in science and journalism.

On a more conspiracy note, what's your take on why no ones just uttered the words 'public interest immunity defence' - It'd sole the whole issue - seems like it's just eing played out for grief olympics/manufactured issue. At worst Acosta will get a kushy job working The Morgue.

Acosta was not asking a question! He was debating the President. The media is supposed to ask questions and the President is supposed to answer them to the best of his ability.
A Presidential press conference is not a debate it is a Q&A session.
Can anyone remember the press treating BHO in this manner. I think not!!!

The media is not a Trump spokesperson. The media is there to ask difficult questions and hold the President's/Government's feet to the fire. The media is there to fact check and call out lies.

And so the Trump cultists celebrate as freedom of the press is destroyed.

So long as your guy is the fascist, right, that's fine.

Lol I wasn't aware the one man was the entire press.

By the way, he still has his freedom. He's not in jail. And he got to ask 3 questions and make a couple statements before trying to keep the mic. It was a press conference, not a one on one interview.

Who fact checks the fact checkers?

I would say that, usually, you do. A fact checker SHOULD; present the contested claim, and, if the fact checker says the claim is false the fact checker usually provides evidence to the contrary. Then, you decide. It may be that you find that the contrary evidence is unrelated or insufficient.

You have a degree?
Robert Beers?
Hope you can get your money back, otherwise I would hit the books.

Many of my quotes involve interpretation of law.
So unless your degree specializes in legal journalism and the history of governmental powers, amendments and court battles over the exercising of governmental powers of the executive branch...

You are way out of your league, which is made clear by your apparent ignorance of how restrictions apply to entities of the press and other investigative branches when dealing with Private Government Properties and RESTRICTED INSTITUTIONS.

A large UNI does not make for Superior academics, nor does it even Imply Excellency of it's Achievements or those of it's Graduates..

TextThere's no such thing as a press pass, his pass has not been revoked, Sanders/Secret service have suspended his 'fast track/queue jump access'

It's called a "Hard Pass".
Would you like me to post a helpful link to the WH page regarding security clearance passes for all members of government, interns, faculty, and how those temp and long term Passes operate up to and including termination?

Would you like to also see the charts showing how many members of the press and other agencies are DENIED and have been consistently since they overhauled it in 1993?

What you mistook for a made up word is a reference to the "Security Access Pass" that allow members of the Press access to certain specific areas of the whitehouse...

Not sure if the great Journalistic University of no name you mentioned has anything other than ethics, seeing as you seem unfamiliar with Security in regards to Government institutions or in Particular the Establishments that house VIP meetings with high ranking officials of International Value.

Otherwise why would Oswald wait for a parade in Texas, if he could simply claim "Free Press" and walk right in to Kennedy's Bedroom?

On a Conspiracy note of my own,

Why don't you go on down with the top achievers of your super Uni to Nevada towards the front gate of the VERY REAL AREA 51 and show us the power of your FREE press to barge into secure areas of government?

Acosta won't get past the front lobby on the White House Tour at this point.

A five year old has more security clearance than him at this point.

He can tweet from the Front Gate.

You should be careful who you claim as a tutor.
It would take hardly any time at all to contact Mr Beers and verify not only any tutorship but if true your identity.

But tbh I would only contact ol Bobby Beers to link him this thread so he can see an alleged protege get schooled on Government Law in regards to Journalism and the FREE Press Corps.

But I'm not that petty and this was boring as I did more educating than debating this go around.

Bastion,

I've read this and researched both sides, and I'm pretty sure you've been "owned" by Conspiracyof Crows.

I'd suggest stopping while you're ... 'behind'.

(just a thought).

Why? My degree specialises in law and puublic admin - dissertation is on US/Iraq media, anyone can contact my uni, nctj and ask to see my journalism law and regulation qualification. All the info iis available online and the Editor of Times Higher, ex BBC North Editor, Grauniad, Strobes, Prof David Colquhoun etc can vouch for me. Security clearance wise, others on here can vouch I worked for BAE and secret US plane based things from 2000ish and was vetted for press pool for at time ex-PM Gordon Brown and more recently Prince Harry doing bushcraft at night. I'm transparent, have nothing to hide.

My niche is obscure laws, rights and loopoles, Acosta can use the 1999 White House legal declaration on journalist protection and government accountability. Obama closed a lot of it but poten fuirst admentment guarantees are enshrined in US courts in press pools - it won't survive an appeal.

I am recovering from seizure and concussion though so probably coming across as an aagressive dick, Ravens right on Ethics, the Cornel list is just a geric House Style guide - it's not relevant to case law and applied first amendment rights/freedom of the press whch is the issue I'm trying to raise.

See todays newss responses from AP, Reuters, Society of Editors, Ethics, Law and Regulation. They cite the public interest defence I wrote about yesterdaay/day before.

If Raven knew who Roberrt Beers was he'd know he was a US war journalist and white house correspondent - he was dissapeared in IIndia suicided off a hotel balcony in Istanbul a few years back.www.theguardian.com...
www.dailymail.co.uk...

ETA: They seem a really useful and clearly intelligent member with some form of experience in the field (far more knowledgeable than joe public - ethics are 100% on point - I'm just being a douche about a minutiae obscure legal detail where Acostas can use several li. nes of defence to be reinstated. Best dropping it as concused and on 30mg Clobozam (strong tranquiliser, standard dose for a major operation is 2mg) so my behaviour towards them is out of order/uncalled for - will get the paper -refs legal precedents tomorrow when less of an arsehole - wish I knew how to upload pics as have two wardrobe rows of relevant journo readers/essential law for journalists infront of me; not to 'win' but to help spread awareness of public, journalistic, Human Rights tools that are incredibly useful.

Jim Acosta was set-up and thrown under the bus by the totalitarian Trump regime. Even the White House Press Secretary Sarah Saunders contributed to the scam, by releasing a manipulated conspiracy-peddling Infowar video in her tweet --- That sped-up the movement of Acosta's arms as the unidentified aid grabs at the mic.

Manipulating images is manipulating the truth...it's deceptive, dangerous and unethical.

yes... the crack pipe theory: come up with the most fantasy scenario possible.... and spead it all throughout the net over and over.

Infowars did it and Trump takes his orders from Alex Jones!
