Being reported the Russia investigation may fall under Whitaker now since Sessions recused himself and has now resigned.

Now that would be very interesting. It was also floated a while back in another thread.

I would wager it will be someone with no traceable political affiliation.
Impartiality will be key with this appointment.

I doubt Gowdy would take it, though I'd wager he'll be offered it.

Sounds too smart. While I'd be impressed, I doubt it.

I'll gladly eat crow if I'm wrong.

Also....the senate is who confirms who is the acting AG....so....it appears the midterms were geared towards the GOP getting the senate fully under the party and this particular resignation being timed based on this.

Very very interesting timing....

I wouldn't mind Lindsey Graham. He's been on fire as of late. Oh, and guess what. Nikki Haley is available to take his spot

Apparently John Kelley is the one that let Sessions know his resignation was accepted.

Another odd thing is that the resignation letter has no date on it. It is being speculated that POTUS had this and was waiting for the right time to release....curiouser and curiouser....

Funny how it's so easy for rhinos to be forgiven so long as they kiss Trump's boots.

Almost like how Trump is a revered christian. That one will never stop me from waking up randomly and giggling.

Considering the threats by Dems once in control of the house, he can't ill afford an AG who'll just sit there why the Dems try to unseat Trump.

This was the best call.

I'll award you a half-star for mentioning Nikki Haley!

But I should take it away for the Lindsey Graham offering.

Shh..dont remind them.

He had John Kelly call him and fire him, couldnt even do it himself.

Dont get me wrong. I cant stand Jeff Sessions, I think he's a moron and wrong about a whole lot of things, but he atleast stood his ground legally where he needed too, I see Trump and Whitacker going right after Mueller on this. Which I know will be applauded here, but will be awful. This thing needs to be seen through to the end.

Whitaker is a former U.S. district attorney in Des Moines and was the starting tight end for the Iowa Hawkeyes in the 1991 Rose Bowl.

Wasn't IG Huber a former U.S. district attorney as well?
