We elected Diversity like never before.

The first Muslim congresswoman, first openly gay man elected governor, youngest woman ever elected to Congress, and more history was made Tuesday night in the midterm races.

What a great time to be an American. No matter your skin color, gender, or sexual preference you can achieve what you believe in. What a country!

Ilhan Omar, first Somali-American congresswoman
Rashida Tlaib, first Muslim congresswoman
Jared Polis, first openly gay man to win a governor race
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, youngest women ever elected
Sharice Davids, first lesbian Native American in Congress
Chris Pappas, New Hampshire's first openly gay member of Congress
Deb Haaland, first Native American woman in the House

We are not nearly as divided as the media would like to make us out to be.
Congratulations America, there is opportunity for all here!

And we elect the dead....

Dennis Hof, the brothel owner who died last month, wins election

You don't have to even be alive here!
What a country!!!

This is all diversions to keep us distracted from the fact The Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster (Pastafarianism) is being oppressed.

Then why all the qualifiers? A unified country is one comprised of Americans, not one where someone feels the need to incessantly remind people they're a translesbian Indian pagan mentally handicapped one-legged panvegan "American." That's sort of the root of division when someone starts doing that.

Seems the voters that voted them into office cared less about the qualifiers than the media did, no?
All hail diversity!

You are really going to have to start a thread on that.
I know little of the Pastafarianism that you post of.

As long as they are American first and want whats best for America great.

I'm not ok with her wearing a Palestinian flag while celebrating winning a seat in the United States Congress.

You forgot, Ilhan Omar was also married to her brother, so there is more diversity for you there.

Perhaps simple Voter ID laws would prevent dead people voting. Rather reflects on the choice of candidates actually. I would be intrested in a link which provides some evidence of dead people voting in Nevada please provide that link

Did she wear it or did her "mom"(best guess) put it on her?
I wouldn't be ok with any candidate wearing another nations flag.

At the same time, this is also the problem with America.

Everywhere in the headlines you see "Minority elected", "First woman", First Gay", "First Muslim", etc.

Nowhere in any of the headlines do you see "Qualified", "Problem Solving", "responsible", "Knows what the Hell they're talking about", etc.

These people didn't get elected for capability, they got elected based on sex, orientation, skin color, and religion. This isn't something to necessarily be proud of if you ask me.

Do you think we're proud of it or laughing at it?

Understand, most of us have no problem with diverse candidates, but we also would far prefer to have qualified ones.
