Now we watch as trump changes his rhetoric from hard right to more center.

We watch as trumps gives the finger to his republican altright base to go were the power has shifted.

And with a dem house a repub senate that power is closer to the center where it should be.

GOD told me to do this; GOD told me to do that; He told me this; he told me that: NO, just NO.

Doesn't work like that, you have to back it up with scripture.

No I don't. Try reading up on our founding documents.

An American Theocracy would not change the structure of the nation much, just replace the constitution with scripture. Judges still reference that as a constitution.

I need to get out of here. I don't do religion...

Who is in charge of interpreting what the Bible means? Will the old testament be included in this legislation? Are there any parts of the Bible that will be ignored?

The Supreme Court currently interprets the constitution, which would simply be replaced with the Bible. Old and new. It would all be included, bust keep in mind the context of various scriptures. Here's a good example based on scriptures from Leviticus (often used by non-believers to discredit Christians, and by some Christians to justify bigotry) , a legal code for priests. Of course we're not going to be stoning gays to death, but their relationships could not be honored as marriage like that of a man and woman. But when it comes to a priest setting a bad example that would be a different story. The new Testament teachings of the Messiah would override any ruling and many people could be forgiven in court as long as the crime was not to take away from another's faith intentionally or hurt another person without just cause.

This thread is supposed to be about the results of the US 2018 Midterm Elections, and what it means for America. If you want to debate Theocracy, I've made that thread already.

Don't worry I already got that thread covered earlier today.
The Elections Are Over. What Now?

Do you honestly want America to become a theocracy? If so who do you see leading it?

I honestly do. And of course God would lead it, though his scriptures. That's the point of theocracy. If you mean human leadership trusted to serve God, my personal vote is for Mike Pence.

If that ever happens, my satanic sacrifice quota is going through the roof.

You are going to have several more abortions? FTFY

What does this mean

It means enjoy your republicuunt days and demos will take over very soon!

Yeah and Americans will beg to be under British rule again. They don't have any chance if they try to impeach Trump much like when the Republicans tried to impeach Clinton.

What has happened in the past? When Republicans are in office Democrats have the House and visa versa. This was a first time they didn't up until now.

Old Testament specifically says its for Hebrews. So no Christians would be subject to its Laws. The New Testament applies to us. If you studied the Bible thoughtfully you wouldn't had made such a error.

And dont bring up the whole i have not come to do away with the old laws verse.Jesus made a New covenant for those who were not hebrew such as everyone else.

I actually voted for Obama the first go around. I've seen the error of my ways though. Obama was a vaccine against forced secular socialism, using hard earned income to pay for evil ways, so we know how to fight it off. Thank God for that.

Government gridlock and the excessive spending continues unabated and nothing gets fixed. Until of course, the US bond rating slips again and TSHTF with the currency.

What it means is the whole system is rigged so nothing meaningful ever gets done and the status quo never changes.
