Additionally, this is in regards to an extremely small part of the Russia investigation. Specifically, just intercepted phone calls. Also, this happened well before most of the damaging information about Flynn came out and well before he was fired or pleaded guilty.

A lot more happened after this news broke almost two years ago.

Not really... he got caught in a procedural crime.. a lie to the FBI, but even the FBI thought he didn't really lie.
The other charge was some foreign lobbying for Turkey.
He basically got caught in the cross fire and just like Kavanaugh, breathless Democrats and their shills tried to make out he was a mass murderer, when in fact he is an American hero.

You are correct. A lot more happened. Many Democrats lied to the FBI just like him. The only difference nothing happened to them. If you want to burn him then we must also burn them as well for the exact same crime. I have no issues with that at all. Lets burn all of them together. Add Bernie's wife to the list as well for financial fraud. She ran a perfectly fine little college into the ground. Ruined many lives of faculty, students and also citizens.

Too bad he pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI and is working with Mueller. Why he lied, dumb and we'll never know but guilty people do stupid things, especially when under pressure.

So he's still guilty of what he was charged with.

Oh oh oh I know it's just like that story about the lady who said Robert Mueller sexually assaulted her.
Phoney fake news.

Please try to keep up. He was charged with making false statements over his testimony that he hadn't discussed sanctions with the Russian ambassador. Discussion of the sanctions wasn't illegal in any way, but had he admitted they were discussed, he'd not have been appointed National Security Advisor, mainly because the media would have overreacted and shat bricks about the whole thing. He plead guilty because he lacked the funds to continue to deal with Mueller's horsecrap, which was intentionally drawn out to ensure anyone under investigation would be hemmoraging legal fund money throughout Mueller's witch hunt.

Please try and keep up? That's rich considering the OP's pop-up riddled story was copy and pasted from a January 2017 article.

The thing is what he lied about showed that he had influence with the Russians, that's why he lied. This is taken directly from his plea deal

the defendant falsely stated and represented to agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, in Washington, D.C., that:

ON or about December 29, 2016 FLYNN did not ask the Government of Russia's Ambassador to the United States("Russian Ambassador") to refrain from escalating the situation in response to sanctions that the United States had imposed against Russia that same day; and FLYNN did not recall the Russian Ambassador subsequently telling him that Russia had chosen to moderate its response to those sanctions as a result of his request and

On or about December 22, 2016, FLYNN did not ask the Russian Ambassador to delay the vote on or defeat a pending United Nations Security Council resolution; and that the Russian Ambassador subsequently never described to FLYNN Russia's response to his request.

He lied about his contacts with the Russians, so the question is why? That's the piece we do not know YET. As part of Flynn's plea deal with Mueller he was to cooperate and hand over evidence. Do you honestly think a prosecutor would just hand out a plea deal if Flynn didn't have something juicy to hand over? If you do I have some beach front property in Arizona for sale.

Let's take a look at some of the things that have been reported about Flynn shall we?

For one, the communications he had with the Russians is reportedly due to Jarod Kushner ordering Flynn to do so. Also, ABC News reported that Flynn told Mueller that Trump instructed him to contact the Russians during the campaign, which is illegal.

ABC News reported Friday that Flynn is prepared to tell Mueller's team that Trump had instructed him to make contact with Russia during the campaign itself.

Since this news is soooooooo very old, let me give you and actual news story about Flynn from a couple weeks back.

The alliance between the Trump campaign and Russia had many nodes of contact. One of the least known, but potentially most significant, is the work that ran through Republican operative Peter W. Smith. Much of the reporting on Smith has been broken by The Wall Street Journal, and its accumulated reports are building an incriminating story.

Smith is a Chicago-based operative with a taste for the political dark arts, who set out in 2016 to obtain Hillary Clinton’s State Department emails, which he believed had been stolen by Russian hackers. Smith died under somewhat odd circumstances last year — he committed an apparent suicide days after being contacted by a reporter, citing an expiring life-insurance policy, but seemed to be in good spirits just hours before his death.

But the most important mystery involving Smith is how important his work was to the campaign, and where it led. When he met with a cybersecurity expert in 2016, Smith represented himself as working on behalf of Michael Flynn, Trump’s chief national security adviser during the campaign. Flynn, of course, had ties to Russia and was forced to resign very shortly after starting as national security adviser for lying about his contacts with Russia.

But Smith, unlike Flynn, was not a famous figure, and initially some people assumed that he might have been working on his own. The Journal has fleshed out Smith’s role, and every new report has suggested that his work was significant. An October 7 report found that Smith raised at least $100,000, from at least four donors, for his work on the emails. An October 10 follow-up confirmed that Smith and Flynn were in regular, close contact.

Today’s report is more explosive still. Investigators have evidence that Smith “may have had advance knowledge of details about the release of emails from a top Hillary Clinton campaign official by WikiLeaks,” according to the Journal.

If true, this would mean that Smith wasn’t merely attempting to get ahold of stolen Clinton emails. He got through to WikiLeaks and was, in some form, a channel of collusion between the hackers and the Trump campaign.

Flynn long ago started cooperating with Robert Mueller. So if Flynn discussed any of this information with Trump during the campaign, the special counsel probably knows about it.

Poor Flynn, Mueller is just mean

Yep, prosecutors hand out those plea deals in exchange for cooperation to people all the time that weren't involved in crimes. All the time.......

Just because all the information hasn't come out yet, does not mean it isn't there. Wait and see.

That is all that any have been charge with in the "rushia" investigation.
lying to the fbi

www.cbsnews.com...

George Papadopoulos, a former Trump campaign adviser who admitted lying to the FBI in the Russia probe, says he's considering withdrawing his guilty plea. In an interview Friday on "Fox & Friends," Papadopoulos said he learned new information Thursday when he spoke to congressional investigators that he "can't publicly disclose." Because of that, Papadopoulos said he's "considering withdrawing my agreement I have come to with the government." George Papadopoulos' lawyer, Caroline Polisi, told CBS News in an email, "There are a number of options on the table right now and we are evaluating all of them closely."

That "rushia" house of cards is falling.

You guys are going to be SOOOOO disappointed. Flynn got caught doing a bunch of shady crap before he had anything to do with Trump, and Mueller just keeps charging people with procedural and inconsequential crap to justify the millions they're wasting on a wild goose chase because one party is butt hurt that they lost an election.
