My ballot went to straight Democrat and I couldn't change it.

I went in and hit the republican button, and it went to straight democrat. The machine would not let me change off democrat. I had to have the ballot canceled and reinstalled . I did file a report with my state.

No matter whom you are voting for, double check your vote. If you are thinking about videoing your voting experience, make sure you check your local laws regarding photos and videos in the polling place.

Can you say what state you're in?

I live in a suburb of Pittsburgh, PA.

An old list about where it's legal and not legal to photograph your ballot.

It worries me that computers are used for voting.

Not because I am a conspiracy nut (I am) but because they can become corrupted. It is hard to lose a wooden box full of ballots. It's easy to lose a lot of virtual 1s and 0s.

When you canceled and changed your vote, it probably voted democrat twice at that point.

And it begins. I hope this doesn't become an issue. That's very serious IMO.

Strange, ATS didn't think swapping a vote was all that serious when Democratic votes were flipped to Republican ones for Cruz in Texas.

Edit: And vice versa, because it went both ways with that humdinger.

Yes, the claim was that it was simply user error.

No I'm sure it did. ATS has a smart bunch. One thing out of context doesn't define the narrative. But if you don't like it here then by all means just poop the place up.

And!

As I recall, a poster had pointed out, with much disdain, that it was the straight voters being impatient with the autofill process that were ultimately at fault.

Voting machine irregularities have been a problem going back since the Al Gore/George Bush election. You would think we would finally be able to get this process right.

Banana Republic.

It's a problem no matter where it happens.

I agree, I'm glad we still use paper and pens in the UK.
...well pencils to be honest but I always take my own pen.

Call it fraud, call it a glitch, call it unicorns farting glitterized cherub kittens, the rightwing in the thread brushed it off anyway.

It does speak volumes, whether you want to swallow that pill or not.

The criminal left is hard at destroying democracy. Absentee ballots at a Maine college have been challenged also. It appears they may not live on campus.a reply to: SocratesJohnson

My polling place use paper and pens. They also happily give replacement ballots if you mark something strange and think it may not be counted.

There is definitely room for fraud with paper and pens too, but it makes me feel more secure.

I don't care what way it goes, if it changes ANYONE'S vote it there is something seriously WRONG! And, it needs to be corrected immediately. If it happens more than ONCE then all the machines of that type should be taken out of service and replaced with paper ballots.

Are you county elections officials all Democrats? Same thing is reported to be happening in Democrat controlled counties in Texas which is why I am asking.

You are lucky. In many if not most US metro areas its all black box voting; lots of room for vote tampering and count changing.
