So ... who moves into that spot? Any suppositions? Bueller? Huber? Bueller?

Please let it be Trey Gowdy!

I'm really OK with being played as long as they DO something.

What? Sessions submits his resignation? Seriously?! Did any of you guys see this coming?

You didn't? How else do you remove the roadblock of recusal? He either unrecuses himself which will cause massive uproar or he simply removes himself.

"q" missed another opportunity to predict this...

Fox is reporting Trump requested Sessions resignation and he accepted it.

Not like this. Wasn't expecting this soon. Then again I don't keep up with all the political excitement. Plus my internet latency today really sucks!

“At your request, I am submitting my resignation,” Sessions wrote in a letter to Trump.

In other words, "Jeff, you're FIRED!"

If you operate off the assumption that the DoJ is getting geared up for some big moves, then you need a funtional department, not one hampered by a man who cannot get involved for legal reasons at the top. At this point, Mueller can all too easily claim that just about any move is linked to his investigate, removing Sessions if they try to go openly and Sessions is blocked.

Following the announcement, President Trump almost immediately confirmed that Matthew G. Whitaker, Chief of Staff to Attorney General Jeff Sessions at the Department of Justice, will become the new Acting Attorney General of the United States.

All that "Trust Session" rhetoric seems... laughable now

President Trump is having a press conference today at 1130 Eastern time.

At least Florida's DeSantis won. That other guy was bad news. I was hoping for John James to win in Michigan but not to be.

Now we get two years of Nancy Pelosi and obstruction and investigations. Uggh..I don't see them getting any of "the people's" business done.

Only good news is the Senate staying strong and Republican.

Have you seen Pelosi in public? She has Alzheimer's/Dementia. It's very obvious when she speaks.

She may get the gavel, but I don't think she'll keep it long before her mental health is finally called into question.

Yep...I agree completely. I have watched 3 family members succumb to Alzheimers/Dementia. She has all the signs.

I think many know this and it is going to bite her in the ass soon.

Harry Reid was very clearly suffering from dementia by the time he retired.

I used to think Gowdy was a white hat.....

Not so sure anymore. He always talks tough but seriously, what has he done?

He and the various committees he has been on have had some real good chances to cut down on corruption.
They barked loud but in the end nothing happens.

Not really....

Now that he has resigned he is free to speak on anything without recusal.
